  • MERCI! I don't understand French but that Machine speaks a language all it's own and I understood it loud and clear.

  • How much was the insurance?

  • You can see a HD version of this film on the video account of its creator > bienwej.com

  • It was originally designed to haul Cannon, hence the gun barrel underneath.

  • Very cool , you know it has something in common with mosr autos today- front wheel drive

  • Really, really cool. So, was there anything else steam powered at the time? I mean, during the 18th century they had sails on their boats, not boilers.

Also, did this "car" ever have any success, or was found to be useless at the time it was invented?

  • Compact car of the 1700's?

  • is this a replica?

  • @MRoesterreicher1 Yes, but quite accurate to the original.

  • @jgmagoo1 ..as i can see :D

  • @MRoesterreicher1 oui c est une réplique.

  • @xyz30200 merci

  • I like the use of a cannon as a counterweight. lol

  • Oddly enough, on its maiden voyage, the original was involved in the very first automobile accident!

  • This museum is 15minutes from me & has one of the most remarkable collections of cars unobtainable even in they're native lands. Several Tatras, Voisins, Aero ect. Lovely collection, great people.

Tampa Bay Auto Museum, a must.

  • lol if I was back in 1769, and I saw that behemoth coming down the street, I'd be scared shitless!

  • @montey1017 presisly what happned with the first tank the germans hid and the allies diddnt like the look either

  • This is a copy of the orginal "first automobile." The original “fardier” is presently on display at the CNAM – Musee des Arts et Metiers in Paris. It is in fairly good condition; some parts were replaced in the 19 th century. It is a museum piece and deserves the best of care. It is impossible to run the “fardier”, even after some fine tuning, the wheels are very fragile.

This one is in the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum in Florida.... It is a beautiful work built to the exact scale.

  • Fantastic video.

Compliments personnels à notre ami Alain.
