incroyable, pourtant on se demande comment la chaudière pouvait être à l avant avec toute la fumée, on voit rien du tout; c était plutôt pour la marche arrière qui sert plus occasionnellement...?
Really, really cool. So, was there anything else steam powered at the time? I mean, during the 18th century they had sails on their boats, not boilers.
Also, did this "car" ever have any success, or was found to be useless at the time it was invented?
This museum is 15minutes from me & has one of the most remarkable collections of cars unobtainable even in they're native lands. Several Tatras, Voisins, Aero ect. Lovely collection, great people.
This is a copy of the orginal "first automobile." The original “fardier” is presently on display at the CNAM – Musee des Arts et Metiers in Paris. It is in fairly good condition; some parts were replaced in the 19 th century. It is a museum piece and deserves the best of care. It is impossible to run the “fardier”, even after some fine tuning, the wheels are very fragile.
This one is in the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum in Florida.... It is a beautiful work built to the exact scale.

It was originally designed to haul Cannon, hence the gun barrel underneath.

Oddly enough, on its maiden voyage, the original was involved in the very first automobile accident!

Fascinant !.... Compliments à l'équipe pour cette belle réalisation "qui marche". J'ai aimé le fût à rocher, belle mécanique pour l'époque !... .
Compliments personnels à notre ami Alain.
