  • I am interested in this device because of support of wav files and lack of 'ipod' emphasis. Isn't there enough options for idiots and their ipods? How many times do you have to say IPOD in this video? This unit is for your android, if you have an IPOD get a freaking pioneer.

  • can you get the dvd and video files to play while driving?

  • @rayt88

That would be unsafe, and illegal, we don't recommend or support any efforts to make that possible.

  • @rayt88 Some places in the world don't have these laws in place. So for those places, you just ground the wire that is meant to go to the handbrake.

  • Can the jvc play cds, mp3

  • @20luisguerrero

It definitely can, in fact it can play all these discs: DVDs, DVD-Rs, DVD-RWs, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and MP3, WMA, and AAC files on CD

Hope that helps, call us if you have more questions

  • Does this unit have a screensaver option?

  • @snowmovies

It does not have a screen saver.

  • @crutchfieldtv Thank you. Is there no way to dim the menu to only show the wallpaper then? I don't find the menus very attractive. Thanks.

  • @snowmovies

Definitely, the actual control buttons that appear on the screen are activated by a proximity sensor, they come alive when your hand goes near the face of the radio. Pretty cool.

Lot more detail on how that works on this product's page on the Crutchfield Website. Go there, search for KD-AVX777 and then click on "Product Research"

  • @crutchfieldtv Thank you very much for responding. Your website has loads of information, good job.

  • zzzZ this guy sounds like he want me to sleep and he is succeeding.

  • is there anything better than this now? its been more than a year, i mean to say in this format also, and can you use a usb stick on this? hope for answers, thanks.

  • @316iRacer

This radio is pretty unique in that the screen is on the front of the radio, no flip out monitor, no double DIN radio. There are really no better options with this screen layout.

Of course you could get a flip out monitor to fit into the same dash opening, with a much bigger screen, and all the same, maybe more options than this JVC.

Give us a call to discuss all your options,

  • @316iRacer thank you sir for taking time in replying to my message.

  • Will this charge an Ipod video while its connected to the head unit??

  • WzW1982,

It sure will. You'll need to use the iPod cable that came with your iPod if you just want audio, and you'll need the JVC KS-U30 USB Audio/Video iPod Cable (sold separately) to get video and battery charging from your video iPod.

    Hope that helps,

  • Does this unit have RDS (Radio Data System) function as I checked out the specs but I couldnt find any info on it.

  • Hi tokayd,

This model does not have RDS, sorry.

Check out models by Dual, Jensen, and Kenwood. They are the only brands of DVD receivers that we carry with RDS.

    Hope that helps

  • Shawneal1,

Yes, indeed this model does have a video output you can use for external monitors.

    Hope that helps.

    Any other questions?
