That way when he puts it in his pocket he can just peek at it and he knows what she drew. I've seen such wallets being sold once, so I know they exist.

At 2:40, look at his eyes. He's probably looking at something on his pad which shows what Ellen was drawing. Maybe a shiny, invisible sticker (something) that reflected her pad.

The added stuff (the waves on top and bottom of the triangle) is just a trick to make it seem like he didn't know exactly what it was she was drawing. I'm just guessing, I don't know exactly what he did. :)

all comment are wrong, the real trick is this, remember how he was hitting the stake on the table. he actually pushed the stake out a bit so the bottom of the round plates are uneven. so no-matter where ellen moves the cones around. keith knows where the uneven cones is. So at the last when he ask ellen the question which hand do you think the stake is under. If ellen said right, then keith would say lets see if it is under this hand, if ellen said left he would say lets see over at the right.

I think for the spike trick the brown coasters are marked somehow and he memorizes the grooves in the wood the spike is under... thats really hard to memorize a little groove in wood. clap clap. w00t w00t. or sleeves have magnet thats an awesome guess.

There is a powerful magnet in his sleeve so he knows where the spike is. He uses a rigged question: Which hand do you think it's under? She says left and it is under her left, he crushes the right saying something like "It is ok to be wrong" or something witty. If she says under her right when it is under the left he says "Good choice" or something. Illusion. However that spike trick has caused so many injuries. Don't replicate it.

lol yea you're right but thats how it will always work.. because he already knew which one to crush somehow so "left" could mean two things. IT could mean for her to crush it with her left hand, or it could mean the spike is not under the left hand so she should crush it with her right.. that way the trick will always work out for him because if she said right then it would be vice-versa.

I am just going to guess about the cones, but those cones looked like oil funnels. Oil funnels that get from a gas station have a small hole in the top. If there was a spike under it, which if you look at the size of the spike and the depth of the cone, you would asume, Helen might move her hand or make a gesture... that's just a guess though... Cool, non the less! :)

The solution would be something transmitting in the spike, something subtle. Then use is a tone tracer, a tool used in the low voltage wiring industry to find wire in walls, like a stud finder. They are accurate, and sensitive.

Hide the tone tracer sensor in the cuff of your sleeve, rigged to a sensor which signals you, a vibrating motor in your shoe maybe.

We tested w/ a tone tracer and cell phone. Worked!
