Pop music has a structure that allows songs to be defined as "pop songs" - and those songs stick to that structure 100% of the time, the only thing that changes in pop music is image, and that isn't really saying much - though it is the only thing that pop fans really care about once you strip away all the auto tune, overuse of vibrato from shit singers, and terrible "lives" lol.

Vibrato is not a skill, it's something anyone can do vocally while singing to sound decent (think of when you sing in the shower, or even the car) - and is a widely known term because it's used so much when a singer can't properly hold a note for a certain period of time. Which is a skill. Not relying on your vibrato, that is pathetic, it's what miley, rihanna and madonna do.
