  • Metspin is too close to meatspin for my liking.

  • Cool death wheel bro

  • Great artist; great job - How long did it take to master that?

  • some scary sheat. how much it weights? over 9000?

  • wouldn't mind seeing the machine you used to spin the metal

  • no safety glasses?

  • @Davaith thought the same thing

  • I thought that said meatspin aha

  • Before wearing that kind of garment, google "Lathe accident" pictures.

  • we are a metal spinning shop in portland oregon. The customer pays for all costs of tooling, after we quote the price of the job. whether we make 4 parts or 400, its the customers decision. we have to decide if making tooling for just 4 parts is worth our time aswell.

  • @ThePress1000 Can I suggest you look at the website of the video's owner? Hand metal spinning is not a process well suited to mass production, but it is a process extremely well suited to limited runs, even one off items. In such circumstances the cost of labour obviously has to be considered against the tooling cost of alternative production methods.

  • @ThePress1000 I have no idea what you mean by that.

  • @ThePress1000 And if the customer doesn't need twenty or thirty, who's going to swallow the tooling costs?

  • Is that a Denn spinning lathe?

  • Why am I watching this?

  • how did i get here?

  • stop talking about safety. look at this old man's face. he seems to be doing this job forever and also he won't live long because he is old. care for you safety

  • beautiful to watch. metal spinning is an art form

  • jesus christ this looks scary

  • Meatspin, Ltd.

  • @jklsd good, i wasn't the only one to notice that xD

  • Watch this video in 480p and check out the posters on the back wall... now that is the sign of a true craftsman! ;)

  • This is the most dangerous thing i have seen since vietnam.

I rather be back in the jungle in nam facing charlie with a blunt knife than do this guys job.

  • I dare him to dive into that hole

  • That thing was huge! Does seem dangerous to work that fast spin with gloves and loose coat on...

  • Safety glasses are cheap. If you don't believe me, ask your doctor. Usually under $10. Gloves probably cost as much if not more. Every chip, solvent, coolant etc that came in contact with my glasses made me feel greatful that it wasn't my eye. Eye is the most sensitive parts of your body and most used. Not worth the risk. I don't ever recall complaining about cleaning my glasses because it is easier than cleaning my eyes. Interesting line of work. Good job. Think Safety

  • Lose clothing and such, can u imagine if that coat got caught up in that spinning thing. Come to think of it, it does look like a clothes dryer. I'd be wearen spandex! VERY NICE JOB

  • @CactassDupree flat piece of metal nothing to get caught

  • @CactassDupree

Indeed, it happend for me while I was working on turning machine. Accidently my "glove got eaten", and whole arm were pulled into the machine. Sleeve of worksuite got split in two and the glove got totally destroyed. After that happend there came a rule into our school "Using gloves while working on turning machine is not allowed"

  • @MikkoMuhis First sensible safety post I've seen, its easy to say "you should be wearing safety clothing" when you do the work for real you know what you should do !!!

  • @metspinnigel it is saying that that you loose your and or even your head !

  • @MikkoMuhis Nice of them to institute the rule *after* someone got hurt

  • @eyescreamcake

Yeah.. Actually I am not sure was the rule there before or not.. But atleast NOBODY of teachers mention about it before..

  • @MikkoMuhis thats pretty much the first thing they thought us when using a drilling machine or a lathe

  • flying saucer?

  • That's why kids are not allowed in the shop of horrors.

With this class of talent, you don't see any blood on the floor, huh kids.

It is a very large piece at that.

More economical than a .5 mill die.

    Nicely done, & good show.

  • so many machine shop videos and so little eye protection!

  • long sleeve shirt... isn't that a bit dangerous?

    pretty sweet btw.

  • very dangerous spinning anything, its anything but safe especially on the big stuff

  • It amazes me.I have been a spinner for 32years and still learning. I like the two pin thing looks to save time.

  • @spinster1122 . I have been spinning scince1978 and this guys technique of spinning these ventures is the best I’ve ever seen. Even with scissor tools or a power machine, you could still use his technique. Great job! Hats off to the Man
