  • everyone sucks. this was a brilliant film

  • I hate when the guy with the gun wins

  • afro samurai

  • Yes, it is realistic and this is a great movie:

    /watch?v=Qzhs1Z8Rwnk&list=FL-J_exyQ9-E_cmxE8hlitfA&index=5&feature=plpp_video

  • So many people don't realise this film was MEANT to be over the top as fuck, it was a homage to the classic spaghetti western films, much like Kill Bill was.

  • Such an amazing scene, makes the whole movie seem bad

  • This is what happens when Yojimbo and a Sergio Leone film have a love child.

  • Knife to a gun fight.

  • Nooo my Yusuke Iseya !!! Don't die ! xC

  • Dude, I fucking love this movie and this scene was just epic!!!

  • i want a muramaza katana

  • this scene would be so much cooler if the good guy was the samurai and he won the battle

  • Django kicks ass

  • I hate this film but omg Yusuke Iseya is hot and is now going to be my future husband!

  • хрень))

  • Taxi Driver :)

  • i just realized this is just like the last episode of cowboy bebop

  • shame after all that swording

  • LOL so funny, the man in black has snow all over his hat, but the white guy has perfect hair all the time..

  • shit film but i love it

  • Great scene from a TERRIBLE frigging movie.

  • I have to say, this is one of the most vanilla Miike clips I have ever seen.

  • If you have to shoot: Shoot!

  • BOOM! Headshot!

  • Realism -- I love it!

  • Katanas are made of really strong high carbon steel, bullets are usually a verry soft type of metal, unless its a full metal jacket the bullet is pretty much fucked.

  • @Fiercefighter2 are you stupid or were you dropped on your head as a child?

  • @Fiercefighter2 Except that human reflexes can't block bullets. OOPS.

  • @Ranrun1 well yeah, but were talking about ninjas here ;p

  • @Fiercefighter2 Fancy sword tricks are no match for a well-placed bullet.

  • @Ranrun1 Yes this is very possible. You just have to keep your sword between yourself and de gun of the other person in a straight line and you only have to keep up with the moves of the gun.

  • Why haven't I seen this movie??

  • cheater

  • There is more style in wielding a katana.

  • Gun wins. Fatality.

  • Heihachi later moved to Italy and became an honor student.

  • THE old django is batter

  • @lepricoun there is an older version of this movie?

  • @lepricoun

Hot dang! Now we can make pancakes!

  • very wonderful! i loved that part. i loved the whole movie!

  • p*tain de m*rde...Maintenant les chinois font même des Western...O_o

  • When he's looking down at the dead guy: "That's what you get for watching those goddamn Tarantino films. That shit ain't real!"

  • That fucker cheated lol

  • This is a great movie :) The way it's shot is amazing!

  • naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiise

  • "Finally...I can risk my life to the death!"

  • Fucking BEAUTIFUL camera work.

  • omg Asian guys are so HOT ~~~~

  • @TheNewAlias but im not asian? :[

  • 1:38 epic face

  • the piercing is totally out of place

  • what the fuck is this weaboo shit

  • >Katana cuts revolver

    >GRORIOUS NIPPON

    >Then suddenly DERRINGER OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE

    >Don't bring a knife to a gun fight

  • @Alex4757 dude its a sword not a knife, but still banzai chargers died with their swords as well

  • @Alex4757 More importantly, don't throw the gun away.

  • @Alex4757 the katana didnt cut the revolver.

  • I loved every second of this movie!

Why does this scene from it remind me of Cowboy Bebop?

  • WHAT THE FUCK DID HE THINK WAS GONNA HAPPEN??

  • Ya Boieee!Don't take a knife to a gun fight.

  • BIG TREE....O'ER THERE!

  • Yusuke Iseya is so hot! o_o

  • If you're looking for a driving story then I wouldn't really tell you to watch this. I would tell you to watch The Assassination of Jesse James or maybe even 3:10 to Yuma. But for many western fantatics out there....they look the out of the ordinary western. Gun duals, fights, two gangs against each other, treasure, ect. This takes that to the next level. It's not your average western and that is the point. I like this movie just as much as 3:10 to Yuma but for different reasons.

  • Some people, should follow the old adage of not bringing a knife(or sword as the case may be) to a gun fight. I will admit he held his own pretty well though. I bought this movie on a whim, and I love it. Another funny Miike film is "The Happiness of the Katakuis"

  • Yoichi is one of the greatest characters ever.

  • I would not trust my trigger guard to stop a samurai sword

  • 2:04 Damn! Should of used the gun >__>

  • what's so great about that scene?

the trees in snow on a mountain?

the blood on the snow? the snow on a hat?

    or corpse ploppin into snow?

  • Comment removed

  • The Atomic bomb was The West's (USA) SECRET, HIDDEN, cowardly weapon?

Japan's codes of honour are vanquished by the steely death of the 'cowboy'.

    Undoubtedly so.

  • If Red Dead Redemption had ended like this, I'd have had more respect for the game designers.

  • @DrCruel The Designers of Red Dead Redemption wanted to idolize the classic Hollywood style that made Westerns such a cultural landmark in America. Had they gone this rout, they would have achieved what every Japanese artist has done when trying to provide their own take on Western cinema: a bastardized trough of action filth.

The Japanese can't and probably will never be able to understand the subtleties that make American westerns so remarkable. This film is typical J-shit in chaps.

  • @Shaman145 Sukiyaki Western Django was Red Sun on crack. But it still ended better than Red Dead Redemption.

  • @DrCruel

It was nothing like Red Sun. What it was like, though, was a merging together of Kurosawa's Yojimbo with it's western remake A Fistful Of Dollars with all the characters on crack. :)

  • @gamewizard Ok maybe, but we both agree that some serious drug abuse was involved.

I mean, big time. Maybe half the movie's budget just to get the actors wasted between takes.

  • Awesome scene!

  • That is what you get droping your gun. dumbass.

  • I thought it was a weird movie, but this fight is so cool

    I love the revolver/katana rivalry

  • I love how the gunslinger say nothing. xD

  • I never fully understood it. Was the lone gunman the son of the guy that was hanged on the bridge? Were the father and mother of Heihachi brother and sister? Whaaaaaaaaaaaat is going on here!

  • @HaloCustomFilms The lone gunman was the kid who started yelling, as far as I can tell. And the parents of heihachi were NOT already related. That would be weird. This movie is easily one of my favorites. Like a boss.

  • amazin thou i love to wield a sword to die like that would be an honor :')

  • this is an awesome movie, but that one line "I can risk my life to the death"...

  • LOL Son actually brought a knife to a gun fight.

  • the guy in white is like hella sexxy hahaha

  • it feels like tarantino directed this more than acted in it

  • you idiot he didn't dodge them. he BLOCKED them. duh!

  • QT? You mean Tarantino? He didn't have anything to do with this film, other then being in the opening scene

  • and in the other scene which explains the origins of Benten and why the kids name is Akira

  • EPIC!!! QT Is MASTERFULL!!!!

  • Why didn't he kick him in the nuts before he got shot ? or even head but the bullet away?

  • Never bring a Samurai sword to a gunfight. Or an anachronistic very-camp Asian for that matter.

  • This is cool. It's like Akira Kurasawa and Sergio Leone crossed together.

  • WHY THE FUCK DID HE SHOOT HIM!? Fucking pussy, he wouldve cut him in half and throw a fucking knife at the old lady while she ran awya. Hated the ending, loved the story

  • That reminds me the final fight between Spike and Vicious.

  • @tekkenmaster2 Hahaha tippicle name you got, If all movies Had nothing but Crash bang Wollap There would be no difference between them Ya

  • such a dope moive

  • Outsmart boolet? Impossible.

  • My dad just showed me that movie last night and I must say as a true japanese phreak that, that was the best movie ever! Although I hate that the guy in white died. He was so hot! :D

  • ...yoshitsune sounds like he has a hispanic accent XD

  • Ended too soon...so much potential

This honestly could have gotten better if the fight was longer

    Awsome freakin movie though

  • heez soo cute

  • Samurai and Cowboys go together like peanut butter and chocolate.

  • this was fucking stupid. the gunfight before this one was better

  • Brilliant film, great action/concept. A revolutionary epic. Worth buying for special features alone. Kudos to Mr. Mike, a director deserving of high praise! This picture is proof that our cultures can learn from one another and art is a great way to showcase that divine exchange.

  • almost hand him.... like THIIISSSS close lol

  • ITT: You weeaboos should shut the fuck up

  • @EnzoXIII anhero newfag

  • that sucks lol the swordsmen should of had a dagger or a machine gun i mean I was getting into it when hey blocked the bullet and shit but like the ending sucked. give them prop-es on how it was shoot and all

  • learn2spell.

  • i'm not english, assshole

    try you to understand this

    gilipollas de mierda

  • It's not a Tarantino film. It's directed by Takashi Miike. To each his own btw..

  • @cinefilikos tarantino was in it and has appeared in some of his own films so i can see the confusion-takashi miike rules btw!

  • try to do your research. quentin tarantino did not direct this movie

  • Try to do YOURS. This isn't a Quentin Tarantino movie.

  • Except this is Takashi Miike, and Tarantino was just in it.

  • yeah but the gunaman was a cheap bitch pulling out a tiny pistol becasue he was 'bout to lose.

  • Well, 'bout to lose' would mean death. I don't see how you can blame him for winning that way.

  • i was rooting for Yoshitsune the whole movie

  • all of history was technically he was the first real royalty in japan XD

  • just recently bought the movie, this ending was pretty fantastic, and admitedly, the only time a Derenger would ever be accurate, or hell, even 'lethal', would be at that range ~lol.

  • Such a great face... like 2:03 he smiles awesomely then gets shot in the head... Damn cheater...

  • HE CHEATED!

    BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • haha cheated? wrong. yoshitsune was dumb enough to toss his gun aside.

  • I couldn't figure out anything from the movie, but it sure had some awesome moments. Like this one.

  • Hey ,that's cheating !!!

  • I loved this movie... lol biases... Yusuye Iseya :D

  • is it just me? or would this movie be ULTIMATELY BAD ASS in japanese?

  • yes it would be, but the thing tht gets me is that every one is speaking english, especially the japanese actors who repeat their lines phonetically. Even if they were oblivious to its meaning

  • "Finery, wih' a wirlly opponent, I can risk my life... to the death!"

    lol engrish

  • man it wouldve been way more better if it was longer and more action.

  • Watch the movie then...

  • more better lol

  • The Japanese version is much longer than the 'internation version', aka 'shorter version for shorter attention spans version'.

  • Great movie.

  • it was just badass =)

takashi miike is one of the greatest director ever, no doubt!!

  • I loved minamoto. He was so godly.

  • Yusuke <3!!!! I love this movie

  • Honor? pshha.. If Yusuke wanted a gun fight then he shouldn't have thrown away his gun! This is the most bad-assed sword vs. gun fight scene, second only to Spike vs. Vicious. Anyone else agree?

  • Actually I have to disagree with myself.. I do enjoy this one better LOL

  • And what about Afro's father vs. Justice?

  • nah, this wins. In that fight scene the bad guy wins lol.

  • Well they both are using 'swords' in a way. The bullets hitting the blade are like the sword clashes in a duel. The bullet that runs up the blade and is split is like the long sword clash that we see in such fights. The final moment is like the stalemate with the 'gotcha!' moment. Miike was perfect in making this scene.

  • i like how it snows out of nowhere

  • "I can risk my life to the death!" Oh, you!

  • Which brings to mind the age old question, do you use a sword or a gun?

  • Two guns.

  • Musisha was said to have blocked one bullet, just before he was taken out in a hail of gunfire.

So, gun or sword, wear armor.

  • Very cool scene!

  • Goemon! and Jigen!

  • The most absurd yet the most beautiful scene of this movie!

  • nice :-D

  • hahahahahahahahaha

  • i enjoyed this movie there was some funny parts tho :) this overall is a great movie the leader of the white gang is freakin awesome:D thanks for uploadin

  • as much as i enjoyed the main character using the guns, the white gang leader using a gun just as flawlessly, ALONG with the mastery of the sword, makes him a greater & more honorary fighter in my opinion...

  • Someone should upload the clip of yoshitsune shooting into the wind, that was a great scene :)

  • agreed - so badass.

  • it wasn't cheap. yoshitsune knew what he was getting into when he attacked django without his gun. he was prepared for death. django granted him what he wanted most, a warrior's end.

  • he's not django, the 10 or so year old kid becomes django.

  • Practicality aside, the whole scene is a stunningly beutifal, and iconic masterpiece of film

  • The snow is red after the shot, but he is falling in white snow :-).

  • This was a very good and fun take on the Italian Spaghetti westerns...mant of which were based off Samurai stories.

Kinda cool really...An American genre with a Japanese tale done by Italians being recreated in a similar style by Japan. It is sorta homage yet a modern like a weird 3 way mirror of cinematic styles.

  • Yes. Many film fans today don't give Miike the credit he deserves for this film. His remaking an Italian remake of an Italian/American remake of a Japanese film, and making all of the cast speak English. The best way to view this film is to view in Japanese with English subtitles. Then it looks like the Spag Westerns.

  • That was a cheap shot

  • Cunning and strategy are the most powerful weapons in battle.

Yoshitsune is clearly impressed that he was outsmarted.

  • ....i don't even care about the improbability of the sword against a gun. i only see the dead gorgeousness of iseya yusuke....

  • wut a cheap win lolz

  • what is all this about honor and cheap shots? either you walk away from a fight or you don't.

  • no bitchassness.

  • anyone who thumbs down this comment has probably never been in a real fight. real fights have no honor. and if they do it only goes to the victor.

  • agreed. fighting itself shoudnt be honored, and hurting another person for one's own content is dishonorable in itself.

  • ok someone tell me when the last time they saw a gun vs katana fight?....give up? Cowboy Bebop final fight scene. In battles you fight with the weapon you are most comfortable with. In this case the swordsman fought with...well....a sword. If you ask me this scene kicked ass and I praise whoever put it on the net!
