A 14.9 with a 99+ GT isn't the car for sure...It's all driver...Hell the 99-04 GT is capable of 13's straight from the factory...So before any of you wanna put down the GT....you'd be better off putting that on the DRIVER...Hell like i said..I've seen many newer model GT's run high 13's very low 14's@over 100 mph straight from the lot...Not blaming that crap on the GT...That fella driving it...simply needs practice. PERIOD.
not sure where you got your numbers from...But the 99-04 GT's are high 13 second cars in the hands of good drivers and very low 14's in your average driver hands...I ran 13.8 with a bone stock 2000 Convertible....I've seen many coupes run 13's...One guy ran 13.4 with a catback and a set of 3.55
You'd have to prove that to people, because motor trend claimed a stock 2002 GT getting a 14.7 while Road and track claimed a 14.5. So if your a really decent driver(which im sure motor tend has) you might be able to get a low 14 but thats it stock.
motor trend has the GT at 14.0 @100.2 you have to think about those mag drivers. Those guys from RT and MT only launch at 2500 and they don't believe in powershifting. Try looking at Muscle Mustangs and fast fords. Those guys can drive. a 99-04 GT is no joke...Don't you fool yourself. add a catback and a good set of gears and they will be deep into the 13's...Gears totally wake that model year up. I've been driving GT's since 94...I can drive them like i stole it.
most people can drive faster than motor trend drivers LOL, they either bog the engine on a launch or they launch it too hard and get too much wheel spin LOL they suck.
dog, the 2005+ Gt Stangs run 13.8 stock with 40 more horses. My brother leased both and the 07 is waay faster. there's no way a stock 99 is breaking 13's
No way in hell a stock GT 04 and older is getting into the 13's. Hell the 05-09 GT is only good for mid 13s

My 04 GTP was totaled last Nov. when a new driver tried to turn in front of me & we hit headon.
I got a 08 GXP(V8) as a replacement so as soon as I learn to stage a FWD with that much power I will post a VID.

We are working on him. That's one of my son's friend's car and he's pretty new to drag racing.
He did get a 14.03 by the end of the night before toasting his clutch.

Even 14 is pretty good for a new drag racer on a 260hp stang...I'm guessing its modified cuz they rate a stock 99-04 GT running a 14.2 i believe

MT also ran a 98 Z28 SS at 14.1 but we all know it's a very low 13 second car in the hands of a capable driver....
