  • This is a wonderful video, thanks john, keep up the good work.

  • Thank you!

  • Today is November 27th and its 86 degrees here in central Florida. Not only is that sensuous, but i intend to use that word more often, just because someone in the comments below made fun of John. You go John, nice idea!

  • Thank you! It works wonderfully except on cloudy or very cold days. I like my newer one based on a dish better...will shoot a video of it next.

  • GREAT VID MAN.

  • would love to see this work in england.. ^^

  • thank you for posting this! I can totally find these objects and infact I just found a box almost identical to the one you used!

  • EXCELLENT IDEA THANKS!!

  • One gallon works just fine for me for over a year now...but I have short hair.

  • Somebody explain to me how you can take a shower with one gallon of water. Even using the wet/lather/rinse method, it is not enough - especially if you are washing your hair. This is a great idea, but I'd have to have 5 gallons.

  • dude you are going to need a bigger bottle or you will stank somthin fierce.

  • I am so glad you posted this video. This "going green" is an all new concept to me so my number one question is always; will this work for me at my home. Well this will because I live just up the road. Awesome ~ thanks!

  • To me, many things are sensuous (vs. sexual)....swimming at the beach, a grand home cooked meal, a cozy freshly made bed on a cold winter night, a favorite sweater on an autumn day, and more.

  • I've never heard a man refer to a shower as 'senuous'...

  • I'd never heard of a Penny Stove so thanks much for the heads up...I will enjoy looking into that. It sounds elegantly simple. John

  • Have you built a penny stove yet? They literally cost one penny to build, the fuel is denatured alcohol, heet, or Everclear. If you make a still you can make your own strong moonshine (like Everclear) and use that as fuel. All you need are two beer cans and a thumbtack to make it, and a penny for the safety valve. Look it up in YouTube, altho I bet you already made one! They work great. Wood gas stoves r cool as well.. another cheap YouTube project...

  • haha that is ingenious! Though most folks would want more than a gallon of hot water. We all want to reduce utility bills. :) Nice video.

  • Thanks! John

  • i live in south tampa too!! great video man

  • Yes since you can store the reflector and jug inside the tote.

  • By George that is awesome for our motorhome!

  • I would scrounge a 5 gallon black plastic bucket take that set up where the bucket would be where water would gravity flow get a plastic pallet rubber mat and add water till the water over flowed have your garden hose attached to your bucket this way you dont have to hurt yourself trying to lift the heavy water. As for the one gallon I highly doubt your water bill would change much if you used 2 or 3 gallons of water vs 1 but your call we are not on water rationing yet and I would njoy as u can.

  • why cant you pussies take cold showers.. when im out camping or when my shower was gettin retiled id go out in the back yard and use the hose at 10 pm at night.. suck it up people haha wtf sensuouse? you homo its a fucking shower you weirdo.. what a freak john

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006 or you could just not shower at all

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006 Or you could suck it up and take a warm shower and stop trying to be so hardcore with a cold shower...

  • @cgts18 warm showers are for pussies oh wait your one arent u

  • hows that work in the midwest winters?

  • Well done : )

  • im building a water heater with scrounged items....i want to heat more than a gallon...40 ..i think...

  • The hinged plastic box is called a tote. It is used to deliver smaller or oddly shaped goods to stores such as Dollar General, Family Dollar, CVS, Rite Aid, etc. Generally these totes are emptied then stacked and stored in the storeroom or outside the rear delivery entrance to retail stores. They are generally sent back to the distribution wareheouse for reuse.

Neat idea for a solar heater too.

  • Thanks! I had found it quite odd with all the detailing and those hinged doors. It sure works well for a solar water heater! John

  • a nice start john keep up the cool work!

  • hey thanks! I think I am going to have a lot of fun sharing once I figure out the hair-pulling software.
