I think bowlers like Murali, Saqlain, Harbhajan & now Ajmal have really benefitted from ICC chaning the law of "throwing". It was during the Murali controversy when the boards of India,Pak and Sri Lanka "conspired" to get the law changed to a relaxation of 15 degrees in the bowling arm & with some "birth-defects" in case of Ajmal , he can even chuck up to 24 degrees. There is a visible flex, which to me says a throw. Biomechanics generally show that a bowler can bowl with a limited flex, not that they always do. Lets face it, when you get tired it's easier for things to creep in. i'm watching this guy against England at the moment, and looked at some freeze frames. on some, his arm is bent at 90 DEGREES! unless you have an anatomically crazy shoulder, you CANNOT propel the ball to the batsman with your wrist supinated so that the back of the hand faces the batsman, unless you throw it. i can bowl all the varieties of both off and leg spin, but not a chance with this type of doosra (i can bowl a different type). it's just impossible unless you chuck the ball.

Bent arm to straight arm is fine if you don't exceed the 15 degrees of flex. If you kept that arm bent within the 15 degree limit, then I'm not seeing any reason to no ball that bowler. The issue is whether people go beyond that limit, and Ajmal looks a little dubious at times.

2. Brett Lee was reported for a suspect action.
