@lechill1978 still a lotta bull dykes up there, eh? this bullocks place must be fairly recent. when i was bouncing around yk all the homos congregated at the float base, on franklin ave.
never thought i'd see a queer bar up there. what an unpleasant surprise.
@benhurfanclub industrial? yellowknife is probably the least industrial city in the world, other than the mines outside of town. i've lived in ottawa, cape town, dubai and YK and YK is definitely my favorite, tied with ottawa.
@davidwill6 I was referring to industrial waste/garbage. A city need not be industrial to have rusty old oil drums and tanks lying about polluting the landscape. From Frame Lake to the slums (aka "Old Town"), the place is an eyesore.
And small wonder it's tied with Ottawa with you. After all, what is Y'knife but a suburb of Ottawa? Phony economy and all. Far more drunks and mosquitoes, though.
@benhurfanclub Yk is a great place, why don't you pick up the old drums and make BBQ or something, you obviously don't live in old town, where the rust is part of the landscape, been there for a hundred years and no one is adding more, I bet you'll say the houseboats are an eyesore too? go to Kelowna, they are super anal there, you'd love it!
@lechill1978 Lived in FLS when I was there. 550 bucks a month to live in a closet. Such is the measly existence of a non gov't worker. Had to pay my rent, and theirs.
As for Old Town, never could understand its popularity. Surprised it still exists. The whole place is a fire waiting to happen. In any other city, OT would be skid row, minus the low rents. Landlords still charging 700 a month for those shanties? As for the houseboats, not so bad. Standoffish inhabitants, though.
@meuhey Oh no you wouldn't. I lived there for a spell and now wish I'd never heard of the place. Overpriced, drunk and bitchy. The politically correct capital of a welfare wasteland. On the other hand, if you're a liberal, you'll feel right at home.
I moved here 6 years ago haven't regretted it, love it here! :D

What about the rest of the town. I like the video, but it only features one restaurant in a town of many.

I'd like to visit this area one day. Thanks for the video.

She forgot to mention the splendid view out the window to her right. A pair of rusty oil tanks, and other industrial garbage strewn about.
Gawd, this is an awful city.

@AirShark95 Only when I'm in certain localities, and Y'knife is/was one of them. Real buzzkill, that place. Actually I'm a fun, easy going kinda guy.
