Homeward Bound (Fingerstyle Guitar)

I've been playing finger style for a long time. But, I don't play melodies. Watching your videos makes me want to learn how to play like you. In trying to teach myself, I find the chords and then try to pick out a melody and bass line. So far, this has not been very successful. Do you start with a melody first, or chords, or bass line, or what. Thanks. kg

@kgast0303 I don't separate songs in parts when I arrange them because that makes things more complicated. I usually play songs out from my memory and if I wasn't sure about the structure of the song or particular chords, I search chords progression for the song over the internet. It isn't easy task to do so be patient.

Since I don't do any routine practice, I can't suggest you one. I would say transcribing and playing your favorite player would help you greatly as I did for Chet Atkins and Guy Van Duser.
