That's similar to my sister her father left before she was born. then our mother met my father and got married, and then when she was 7 I was born. My father even adopted her, and even after our parents got divorced he was still her father and now she's turning 21 on Wednesday. Glad to hear about how your mom found you a complete family again!

This makes me think of my step dad. My dad died when i was 7 and for about 8 or 9 years, my mom didn't date anyone, and when she started dating, she couldn't find anyone that liked kids or that I liked. Then she met my step dad across country and she went to visit and she called me up and said he asked her to marry him. He's a great guy, though we don't see eye to eye on everything.

what do u think of this as a song for my stepdaddy and i to dance to at my wedding? he came into my life at the age of 8 and was more of a father to me than ever i'd experienced even my bio father. he stood up for me and showed me i mattered and has been there for me every day even when my mother and he split he is still my dad. now i hope i can be half the parent he is but i dont think he can ever know how important he truly is to me this a good choice to show him or not at a wedding

This song is perfect for my dad. My grandpa was his step-dad, but still 'Dad' to him. And he met him when he was 5. My grandpa died of leukemia when my dad was about 15. When Brad came out with this song, dad broke down and said that that was 'Dad's song'. To this day, my dad thinks he's not as great as my granddad was. But this song his perfect for my dad and grandpa. Thank you. It was absolutely outstanding and perfect.
