  • its quite awesom...but way to complicated for food IMHO...but then again evryone has a different style =)

  • He looks like a catfish... just sayin'...

  • i heard old eggs are better at making meringue..

  • Comment removed

  • Not that I'm a cooking whiz or anything, but I made a comparable meringue with room temperature eggs, a pinch of salt to stabilize the mixture, vanilla and granulated sugar.

  • Too much effort for the avg looking baked alaska

  • And what's name song of the trance music that starts at 2:28?

  • digga digga ding ding ding ding

  • whats the name of the song that starts at 0:46?

  • @TheViktorious1 "Di-Gue-Ding-Ding" by Michael LeGrand

  • @Lodoss9 awww not the song that I ment): but thanks anyway.

  • @TheViktorious1 the name that is playing in the background. btw, heston makes awesome food man, i love it!

  • THUMBS UP FOR FRIED CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • Ahh i remember making this with a friend as part of a 9 course menu for a few other friends..

We both concluded that heston has an unhealthy obsession with putting things through sieves.... ALL THE TIME

  • It looks yummy, but I bet it's rather dear.

  • looks like bono in this

  • no wonder he shaves hid head, ginger cunt!!

  • I love the way Brits and Australians pronounce there O's!

  • I need to get some dry ice damn it!

  • The end product is actually quite sexy.

  • @FreedomValentine but so was the 70s version

  • is dry ice safe to eat? he put some in the raspberry puree, but i don't know if dry ice is hygienically safe to eat.

  • @selene0420 Dry Ice is just frozen carbon dioxide, so it's not poisonous, but it's ridiculously cold, so probably not a good idea to go popping a cube in your mouth. Being so cold makes it sterile too (like being too hot.. most nasties like it around room temperature to human body temperature :) ), if you meant that kind of hygienic...

Think liquid nitrogen, but frozen solid at temperatures that're above nitrogen's boiling point. :)

  • @sphoney thank you!

  • @selene0420 dry ice is safe to eat, just not in the solid form where it will freeze. If you think about it its simply just packed carbon dioxide. Some soda companies actually even use it to provide the carbonation in their sodas. so Solid - not recommended, added to something - pretty safe to eat

  • Imagine if as he bent down to place his fork in this baked Alaska for his first mouth watering bite and he stumbled and went face first into this labour of love. Ha ha ha.... hot, cold, sticky mess. He would start to cry no doubt. Or laugh.

  • wow.....so much effort- you have to admire an artist / scientist who puts so much time into his work- only to have it gobbled up by some rich banker pig who knows not of the suffering just to achieve the perfection.

  • which banker ????

  • Wonder what he would do if let into a cleanroom?

  • he should charge this cake for $100 usd man...

  • He's so calm. Great video.

  • imagine going to his restaurant and eating a meal that has had so much thought and care go into every single aspect. A meal he has researched empirically to achieve the best possible taste and texture. one day...

  • @bigsmart yea, that makes sense. i can understand now why a trip to his restaurant is so pricy!

  • @bigsmart and spending a bomb.

  • @bigsmart-Yes, and would be £30 for a starter........ thank you very much! he said. Not a student price?

  • I can't understand why vienetta survives. It doesn't taste very good at all, very cheap ice cream. It's just well presented, I guess.

  • Whats wrong with Vienetta!?

Vienetta is a finely crafted piece of ice cream making that everyone enjoys!! lol

    It's the bollocks!

  • omg how can anyone say this is like vienetta...blasphemy!lol

  • I mean , really it's nothing like vienetta. The colour and the shape may be similar but the composite parts that go to creating it are quite different.

  • sorry i should rephrase my comment - It looks like a vienetta,

Hows that does it suit you now?

  • I was simple stating the fact. I was in now way trying to be big headed or ignorant. I hope you didn't take it the wrong way?

  • noooooooo not at all, after all it isnt like vienetta is it,

  • trust a retarded scot to compare baked alaska to vienetta, Go buy yourself some haggis and tell yourself you're eating a macdonald's happy meal lol
