Update: Went to Metropolis last weekend, blared this song, and sang it at the top of my lungs. Also got my picture taken in front of the statue, saw Fort Massac, and the Ohio River! Thank you, Sufjan, for this awesome song!! :D

WOW! I was amazed to hear such a different but gorgeous beginning! I love this arrangement; it's so beautiful. It makes me want to visit Metropolis, IL, which isn't WAY too far away from me, but ... I heard that it's a scary-ish place anymore. :( I'd still like to at least drive through it and BLARE this song out the car windows! Long may you live Sufjan, you brilliant, quirky, beautiful man, you!

i was at this show four years ago and fell in love with sufjan. earlier today i got really good seats to see him in nyc this fall. this brings back amazing memories : )
