It seems strange that so many Christians are attacking Tom Cruise and Scientology. Are Christians REALLY concerned that Scientology harms people OR are they just trying to eliminate the competition? I suspect the latter. The fact is that if a group sets out to con, mindwash and intimidate people out of money (costs an estimated $300,000 to stay with them) if groups extort money people then banning them is a signal to others not to join. "brainwash people into dependency and take their money"... yea, and on Sunday when you're passing the collection plate, maybe you should think why is it so wrong for somebody to have faith in something that might seem just as huge of a fairy tale or silly as a guy who could turn water into wine, or question how much money is given to the gigantic multi-million dollar Christian churches you see on every corner.

I had a friend who was in scientology movement, she ended up in psychiatric care for years as a result of being in the cult. It is a destructive movement which takes away people's ability to manage their lives, it is worse than most cults in that it messes with people's psyche, trying to embed dependancy. then robs people of their money, time and intellect. it should be banned

Any idea, especially false ones, cannot be simply censored for they will become far more powerful than before. Hence the way you fight a monstrous person is to kill him/ her, but a monstrous idea must be fought on the same plane... intellectual not legal. Sun Tzu knew this concept quite well, as did Horus Greely.
