  • climax is not good

  • the lightning is amusing

  • foreign films (or films in another language) are awesome ^-^ good job

  • Wow, This is so well shot and so well acted! Im very impressed by the quality of this short.

  • Please have a look at The Acceptation 'British Short Film'

just type it in the search bar in youtube.

Thanks I also really like this video.

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • Very good job, I just felt like you could have built it up to the climax a little more...

  • good framing

  • I still watch this one- very nice work!

  • A+ Riveting and well acted. Great lighting and coreograhing.

  • Nice work! Hey if you got time, watch my film on my channel called "Lemons & Lemonade" It stars Connor Stanhope, the child actor who played Lex Luthor in Smallville. Shot with the RED CAM, was in Cannes Short Film Corner 2011.

  • very good man keep it up

  • oh you boys and your guns. sure some nice work on colours and framing and sound but emotionally i'm not buying it at all. cliched and unconvincing. actions are slow. sorry just this girl's opinion.

  • SICK! Nice! I'm working on a comedy myself. Not for school, film festivals, or anything like that. Just for the love of it and to express myself! Best of luck!

  • GUD 1...at what positions u placed the lights @ 1.15 such a way that in entire frame only his face is lightened

  • great film, my only complaint is that when the brother broke out of the ropes and pushed the thug into the wall it looked really cheasy. Would make a short film with you guy any time, Amazing job for only filming it in a week

  • I like the hiting scene, some of the takes, others looks amateurish (but they wouldn't with some camera shaking). Too bad the blood isn't always realistic. And I love the color correction. Great job!

  • Can honestly say this is the best short film I've seen yet! Great job!

  • was this shot on a hmc150?

  • @FireForHighr yup. sorry for the late response!

  • Awesome! Great quality, great argument. Vey good man! I'll subscribe you! I'm studying in an audiovisuals school, and now I have to make a shortfilm with 6-7 minutes and I dont know what to do. I want something professinal like this. I have a Samsung HMX S10 camera, what do you think? Can I do a professional movie with this?

  • @AndreCorreia1 thanks andre. Sorry I don't know much about the Samsung HMX S10. Not sure how great it would look, but might be decent since it shoots in HD. That's more of a consumer camera. You should look into prosumer cameras, or professional cameras if you have the $. dvxuser[dot]com is a great resource for questions like this. check it out!

  • @AndreCorreia1 hello great job. i am doing a short film as well and also leading into a feature film about 93 mins. right now i do music video check me out and let me know what you think and maybe some time in the future we can do a film together as so i love to network. thanks. don't forget to check some of my work out on my page.

  • @AndreCorreia1 great job! check out some of my work also "snapthatfatrat" on youtube as well

  • I really hope to see MORE stuff from you. I absolutely LOVE THIS short the whole message and ending. BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • Wow, this is easily one of the best short films I've ever seen, congratulations, good work!

  • Excellent work.

  • This is so impressive, and produced in only one week! What lighting equipment did you use? Redheads? And I'm struggling to decide on a shotgun mic to purchase - is the NTG 3 worth the extra money over the NTG 2 or AT897 do you think?

  • @1simonmatthews thanks! we used special fluorescent lights from the company Cool Lights. We used two: a CL-255PMD and a CL-455P. For the shots like in 1:17 we used the CL-255PMD only. They are much like Kino Flos. The NTG 3 is definitely worth the money if you can afford it and may outlast your camera if you think about it. It's a "you get what you pay for" kind of thing. If you're interested in the NTG 3, talk to Guy Cochran at DVeStore for a good deal.

  • @justinslee Cool, I'll have to look into those lights. Just bought an NTG-3, used but like new and boxed with the pouch, steel tube and foam sock, for $459 delivered (actually £290). Reckon that's a good deal. What a sexy mic - never thought I'd say that about a mic haha! I'm gonna shoot a parody/re-edit of The Exorcist soon to test it out, and I'm gonna try makeup effects for fun. Thanks for replying man, I'll send you a friend request!

  • This deserves way better than just barely 10000 views

  • Great work, keep up the good work.

  • What about the sound effects, Opening Boob + hitting the guy in the chair. What did you use?

  • @pkbboston23 got them from sound rangers, the hollywood edge, and sound ideas libraries

  • whom does he shoot at in the end? i dint get it :S

  • @mtitude35 no one is there for him to shoot, but he's thinking of someone ;)

  • Great film!!

  • the action sequences were a little cut an dry

    but besides that

    it was amazing

  • Where did you buy the toy guns? It there a website? Btw, Amazing film. Did you use a matte box on the hmc150?

  • @CristhianAndrews Thanks! I used Airsoft guns, high quality ones. They're the most realistic ones I've ever seen. Don't know of any websites, but I'm sure you can find them easily. I did not use a matte box.

  • this was really good, it should have been longer!

  • Impressive work on the face punches, very realistlic in my opinion :). Great work overall.

  • if this was a full move i would truly watch every minute of i. this was fantastic. what editing software did you use for this and was type of effect is the color for the footage

  • @TylerSaysTV thanks for the compliments! We edited and did color correction on Final Cut and got the look by color grading on a program called Magic Bullet Looks

  • awesome.....good editing...

  • wat camera did u use 4 that?

  • @1dontlook2 Panasonic HMC150

  • Outstanding. Brilliant. Loved it!

  • This movie is awsome !!!

I think the acting had the right amount of energy. Very organic.

You sould be very proud of this piece of work.

    Very inspirational to other filmakers.

Have not seen the whole film.

But am sure that it rocks !

    Rock on.

  • This is pretty good man i kinda wanted to see more lol

  • Congrats for Cannes!

What did you use for sound (shotgun, etc.)?

  • @mirageBites Thanks! Yep, we used a Rode NTG3 shotgun mic with a Rode Blimp and boom

  • Good work Lee!

    The music needs more work

The best acting comes at 2:51

The Leica lens on the camera is good! but to get more depth, zoom all the way in and move the camera back.

    best of luck for you!

  • That was AMAZING. I'm definitely getting this camera now. How much does it cost to enter Film festivals? and How much was your mic?

  • Campus MovieFest, the one we entered into, is free as long as you're a student and your school is a part of their tour across the globe. For other festivals, check out the site Withoutabox. It's a convenient online submission service for film festivals. Some free, some not. I got my mic (Rode NTG3) for a very good price at the DVeStore (google it). Contact Guy Cochran over there and he should be able to give you a good deal

  • @justinslee What kind of lens did you use and what kind of editing software did you use?

  • @William82oct Used just the lens on the Panasonic HMC150 camera. No additional lenses or adapter. Edited and color corrected on Final Cut Pro. Color graded on Magic Bullet Looks

  • was this shot using the hmc150? and if it was is this quality good enough for the big screen?

  • yes it was shot using the hmc150. it's been screened on the big screen in a few events and theaters and I would say the quality is good

  • d acting lack of energy thou..

  • sound with the ntg3 is amazing. I will buy one of them. Sounds good indoors and outdoors.

  • That was a very powerful and moving piece. Good luck for all of your future projects and I hope you make it very big one day, for you have so much potential.

  • Did u shoot this on the HMC150 only or did you use another camera?

  • Just the HMC150

  • simply great!!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent directed peice, good cinematography too.

  • what did you use for color correction?

  • i did some minor color correction on final cut and then color graded (which is probably what you're referring to) on magic bullet looks

  • Congrats on winning Best Drama and the Western Finale and good luck at the Internationale Grand Finale!

  • nice jobof everthing. what kind of light kit was used ? like 1:17 n was magic bullett looks was used? thanks

  • Thanks! We used two Cool Lights: a CL-255PMD and a CL-455P. For the shots like in 1:17 we used the CL-255PMD only. And yes we color graded everything on magic bullet looks.

  • hey thanks for the reply. can i ask u one more? u know ur mic sound is so like movie. is it cus of ur expansive mic or editing post ? cus i bought a rode svm and i hear too much noise n doesnt sound loud enough. ni how~

    i m korean btw

  • Yeah my mic (Rode NTG3) is really nice and unfortunately pretty expensive, but it's def. worth it. If you're interested, Guy Cochran at DVeStore gave me a good deal. However, yours is still considered a pretty good mic. I guess it's a "you get what you pay for" kind of thing. I'd mount your mic on a boom pole to eliminate camera noise and bring it closer your subjects to improve the loudness.

  • Nice work! I have an HMC too. Great camera. Congrats on the win you did great. Begining scene looked as tho you may have had a lens adapter on the camera. That true? Either way looks great.

  • thanks! no lens adapter used

  • Excellent Work!! The sound quality, acting, camera work, everything was perfect! great job, guys

  • what type of camera are u using?nice high def man

  • thanks! we used a panasonic hmc150

  • Aghh this is beyond awesome. The transitions, the makeup, the angles, the placement of the subtitles, the sound effects, the actors you casted - amazing!

  • loved it .

  • This had some good angels, well done overall. What kind of sound setup did you have? Did you connect the ntg 3 to a portable recorder or mixer?

  • thanks! it was a pretty basic sound setup. ntg 3 was on a boom and connected straight to the camera.

  • Glad to see that your production's are sounding great!

  • KENNYYYYYYY =D

  • great job!!

  • Just curious, what kind of camera/equipment did you use? I really like the look of it.

  • we used a panasonic HMC150 camera and it was naked, meaning no extra add ons, no 35mm adapter. the look / color grading was all done in post

  • Awesome, thanks for the info. I just got the same camera, so this makes me optimistic about what I can achieve!

Nice work with post and good luck with any future projects!
