I had the nuss procedure done 3 months ago and it still kinda hurts. But I want to do cheer in a couple of months, can I still do backbends and round offs and things like that in a couple months at all? Because I really want to know if the bar is able to let me. Please reply as soon as possible if you have any idea. Thanks
@reptileita Don't exaggerate, I had it done in May and it didn't hurt anymore after 5 weeks. The first days are bad, just take some contramal and you'll be good.
Hey man I went for the nuss procedure about a week and a half ago and I was just wondering how many weeks is it untill I can sleep on my side and my stomach again please reply asap
@IVON899898 not with the bar in no, im about to go into the marine corps, and its a automatic discharge unless you prove your physically fit enough to go in.. you have to get waivers and all kinds of shit
@darkaura12 If it hurt when u workout after 3 months u are working out with to much weight... remember that u have done a surgery and u might not be able to go from where u were before so u might have to work urself to the top again...
@reptileita like i said, unless its sever it can improve it, i dont have it severe, and working out has pulled it out, not completely, but enough for it to be at least flat
@TOWinkworthIpswich no it doesent its a bone you cant pull out a bone trust me i have it ive been working out 2 years dont give 2 shits what people think about it but yeah all that work out non sence.. dont work
@shiftysnax You've been snowboarding! That is music to my ears dude. Im going in for the Nuss next week and man Im worried sick that I wont be able to go boarding after it. How long afterward the op were you boarding? Im giving myself 7 months to be ready for the slopes. What age are you?
@shiftysnax a couple of scraps really? cuz im an amatuer boxer and was thinking about getting the surgery...what did your doctor say about high contact sports like boxing and such cuz if i have to give up boxing after the surgery then no thank you
@kewlkid629 word dude .. ive skate boarded since as long as i can remember .... pool skating aint no joke.. but also being 23 and still feeling akward and reclusive during the summer when all my pals go out to the beach is a major self esteem blow .. .. im torn .. i love skating to much to just give it up
@theawesomebenji i just got it monday, like how reptile said, enjoy every little bit of movement u can. like, i cant sleep flat. and i wont be able to for like a month. get prepared for the pain bro, cuz it will be intense lol. not tryin to scare u or anythin but just so u dont wake up surprised.
a couple of scraps really?..cuz im an amatuer boxer with pectus so i was wondering if i could get surgery and still box...what did your surgeon tell you about high contact sports like that
my heart hurts when I do anything that seems to raise my heart rate (jogging, exercise, even long fast walking) I always knew I had a dent but didn't associate it with fatigue and breathing issues.
My collarbones are slightly raised because of the pectus excavatum. They stand higher than the normal collarbone. I was just wondering if your collarbones were lifted too. My PE isnt that bad but I could never do a handstand. Its probably just me. nm
Yo, Ive got PE. Looking to have the op done in the next couple of months but Im a gymnast (trampolinist) and am worried its gonna stop me. Seeing you do that give me some great hope man. Thanks!
How are you finding the bar? Does it get in the way for other things? Can you run/swim? Can you fall and take a bump?
And what age are you? Im 27. Wondering if that'll make a difference.
I'm 21 years old. The bar is obviously uncomfortable, in the first 1-2 months after op i was not able to do any sports.
From 2 to 6 months i was able to do "aerobic" sports, like running or swimming, with no problems. After the 6th months i started "Weightlifting".
A good question is "Can you fall and take a bump?" :/ in the first months i was afraid to ride bike, cause of bumps. You are a trampolinist, i really dont know for how many months you will be stopped.
can you feel the bar inside you?
sas103 1 month ago
@sas103 i FELT the bar inside me, i have no bar from about one year.

Some ppl think nuss procedure is quite masochistich in "adulthood".
