@Deergirl190 It is mostly you measuring whom ever the tail if for every two inches all the way down. Mermaid Sasha made a wonderful tutorial. If you watch her video, you should be able to make your own custom pattern for a mermaid tail. :)

@EllieBelleh I usually wash my hair with Color Vive, or if I want to do a deep cleaning I use T-gel. Also, if you want to protect your hair in a chlorine environment, it helps to slather your hair completely with conditioner before entering the pool. (Though I was in a fresh water environment in the video)

I am extremely busy trying to finish my realistic tail in time for a dead line... maybe after that. :) but there are others that do make tails right now if you really want to get one. You can find them all over ebay. or just Google "swimmable Mermaid tail" and some should come up. Sorry I couldn't me of more help!

@TheMiniGameFreakTota The swimming isn't difficult with the tail really. It is just a little different. The hard part is how shallow the water is. It is a little hard to swim if there is too little water and you need more space when you have a tail on because of the undulating motion that you have to make to swim. It just takes up more space than if you were just kicking your feet.

@piercings0and0scremo I am. I just used my normal makeup, though it washed off after some time. When I want it to really stay, I use my oil based foundation from Picture perfect. Then I add my powders on top of that (ie eye shadows and blushers) then I talc over it really well to help set it. There is also an underwater makeup from Makeup forever. They specially make their makeup for underwater performers. I hope to use this soon (though expensive, I hear it is worth it)

@Babbybre01 They are relatively easy to make if you know how to sew, and if you already have a mono fin, should only cost you about $20-$40 to make depending on fabric and if you have a coupon. This tail was made for $20 (sans the cost for the monofin)

@jussrich0724 I don't really stay down that long, maybe about 20 seconds per shot. But they are all spliced together to make it look like a continuous shot. I have been trying to get a longer breath hold while swimming but need to work more as I have exercise induced asthma and need to get around that. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! :)

@chibscutes Before I swim anywhere that I am not familiar with, I swim the route with a dive mask and no tail. This way when I am blind, I have a little better idea of what may be in my path. I wear contacts, so when I swim I have to take them out before opening my eyes underwater. Which makes me doubly blind under water. So I just do my best.

@chibscutes Not as much as you would think. The rushing current is the only thing that really is a bother because of the pressure on your eyes. But the fresh water it self is kinda soothing. It is nothing like pool water or salt water. My eyes weren't red at all. In my opinion, If you are going to open your eyes under water, fresh water is the place to do it! :)
