  • What does the romanised version of 'до скорого' say da skorava? Shouldn't it be da skoraga? Because 'г' is 'g' right? Or is 'г' pronounced as 'v' sometimes too?

  • So, you can pronounce the 'o' as 'a' too?

  • The "and you" with 'what's your name' is "a tibya" but the "and you" with 'how are you' is "a u tibya". Why does the one have a 'u' in it and the other doesn't?

  • good video but there several problems such as - in part one she says (kak vas za vut ) as that 's your name in the second one he says (kak ti-bya za vut) as what's your name , so you should correct it or explain if i was wrong .

  • LMFAO this cartoon intro music.

    very good lesson indeed

  • Why is the "Г" of "скорого" pronounced as a "v"?

  • @pizzicarlos89 In most words where you see 'eго' or 'ого' like that, the 'г' takes a b(which is the v) sound.

  • @pizzicarlos89 This pronunciation is historical - it is easier to pronounce words with "V". But in some regions of Russia pronounce "Г".

  • @pizzicarlos89 It is right

  • @80Perkele see you - [do skorovo] - russian letter B - [ v ]

  • Hi I understand that B is v but why is it a г G in the spelling it's " до скорогo " shouldn't it be "Ckopobo"....?! skoroGa and not skoroVa...fonetically....I'm confused? Thanks for your help!

  • in russian letter like [г] almost all words pronouced as "G"

  • @MusicMzZ

in russian letter like [г] almost all words pronouced as "G"

lol what??? we pronouce R like R (rolled like in spanish)

  • @80Perkele

endings with "-ego", "-ogo" pronouced as "-eva", "-ova" in russian. ususally "g" sound is pronouced as G, but in this case there is exeption.

  • Без труда не вынуть и рыбки из пруда.

  • difficult language it is, but really sounds good. i do hope... i can make it. :)

  • Zdravstvutie, Tovarish,

    Ryskie Yazik ne ochin trudna.

I am an American, and it's not really a difficult language (on the contrary, because Russian is highly regular -- unlike English -- learning Russian is an efficient endevor).

I highly recomend Ultimate Russian from Random House.

Also, you must remember that Russian has a very different stress (In this way, it is like Spanish).

Remember, it's NOT difficult, just a little different.

  • @AmericanStory1

правильно сказать: "Русский язык не очень трудный" или "Русский язык не очень труден"

  • @HomoCallidus

Oh, please, stop embarrassing native speakers who believed both forms to be pretty correct! :-)

Но если уж совсем правильно по-русски сформулировать, то, скорее, - "не сложен", а не "не труден". It's like "difficult" and "hard" in English.

But these are way too subtle nuances, and you'll be understood anyway :-)

  • The way is than long as you want, if you got the wish i think it is possible good luck for all

  • Where can I get the song from the intro?

  • @Mishgan1983 i luv Russian alphabet but not as much as Russian gals~~~

  • LOL. its funny , i know.

  • i dont understand why there is an informal way of saying whats your name and my name is. if they are good friends or family shouldnt you know their names? great tutorials btw, i really want to learn russian but its hard to find a tutor anywhere around here

  • I think this lesson means next.

Russian has a pronouns TY and VY. In English ones are YOU. What does mean TY and what does mean VY?

TY (ты) - pronoun uses for communication with friends, family or children or with known to you people.

VY (вы) - pronoun uses for formal communication like your boss, old people or with unknown to you people.

in Russian we shall be have next:

for people with same age like you: Kak TEBYA zovut ?

but for unknown man or old people:

    Kak VAS zovut ?

  • How come when you say "see you" as "Da skorava" , in the cyrillic you have spelled "va" with a "geh" and not a "veh"?

  • It's grammar.

In Russian part of adverbs and all adjectives in genitive case have word's end with - OGO - or - EGO - . But correct reading is -AVA- or -IVA-.

    For example (adjectives):

krasnogo (we have not red) - krAsnava

sinego (we have not dark blue) - sIniva

    For example (adverbs):

vsego ( in all) - vsivO

    or another case:

    legko (lightly, easily) - lehkO

  • Dank u wel! Dat was een goede les ;)

  • inderdaad

  • pri-vyet
