Are you using a lure or bait and What kind. I know a lot of our lakes & reservoirs here in Colorado have catfish but I have never tried ice fishing for them.

ive never been either but i am going next year, but those electric things are straight down fish finders. apposed to your average all around fish finders, those tell you what is straight down. for your question about catfish activeness in winter time, i have no clue.

Not sure of the context of 3-4 lbs, but yes you are right I didn't weigh them, so it's possible they were smaller. I guess you are the expert. I may not be the best at judging fish the size that I usually use for bait. :) (check out my other videos) and to all the other comments, we generally release all our fish and use some sort of cut bait when ice fishing.
