  • The creation of everything around us is a result of natural causes, which have all been proven. Why believe that along the line, there was a supernatural event? There's no proof of that. Culture influences beliefs. When you gain the ability to break away from the domestic circle is when you truly explore your individual knowledge.

  • Yes, religion is a crutch. Religion is man's way of systematically formulating a way to earn merit to a god or gods. However, if God exists, which it is quite evident by examining the complexity of the universe that He does, then it is not a matter of designing rules to follow Him, but to know Him.

So many miss out on the gracious hand of God by approaching Him with a prideful attitude of religion, or defiance. I challenge you to honestly and humbly come to Him with a seeking heart for truth.

  • @LOOKGODISNOWHERE *facepalm*

  • @JSCwrd With teapots on.

  • @LOOKGODISNOWHERE

    nice proof

  • Thx Bertrand u ROCK!

  • Religion exists in large part because helps maintain the power of the ruling class. It is, as we all know, an opiate of the masses. It will exist as long as human frailties and greed exist, which is to say, forever.

  • @allrightguy89 i agree

  • @allrightguy89 On a very short note: you have a excellent point.

Religion has never been separated from politics even until the the modern days. The Church was the State then, and now we have government officials who were challenged of his abilities because suspicions of his religion background might be different from the general acceptance.

religion is a false evaluation instrument which the common men would use to rule and obey.

  • Many thanks for this upload!!! He listens to these fairly ordinary questions and his brilliant mind kicks in and he replies in the most deep, rational, objective manner possible. The great Master.

  • @sanasusa great master indeed!

  • "What an honest interviewer and an honest interviewee." She's not totally honest. Taking advantage of his age, she asks him indelicately if he's "afraid" of being "converted" on his deathbed, which she describes as "common" among atheists and agnostics. His response is unflinching: "Religious people, most of them, think that it's a virtuous act to tell lies about the deathbeds of agnostics and such. As a matter of fact it doesn't happen very often."

  • What an honest interviewer and an honest interviewee. Thoughtful honest questions. Thoughtful honest answers. Religion is useful to those who control and dictate the dogma. For those who follow it's little better than slavery. Convincing the feudalistic peony they will get their just rewards in heaven...a cruel, despicable carrot. Just rewards, my ass.

  • "It seems to me a fundamental dishonesty and a fundamental treachery to intellectual integrity is to hold a belief because you think it's useful and not because you think it's true..." - gotta love it.

    Great upload! - Thank you!

  • whoops! - 0:43

  • I have said this too many times to count, Religions exist only for the benefit of the priests.....period. All of the "charitable works" are just so much P R work. Sure, there can be isolated instances of rogue ministers and clergy, but always observe the mass average and draw what you will from this.

Religion, the oldest team sport on the planet with the nastiest hooligan fans.

  • awesome post

  • He said there's no such a thing as after life, I wonder why is people trying to destroy the planet? what's the plan behind it? why are we so arrogant? are we serving an obscure agenda? is the eternal continuous extermination of cultures our true nature? why all ancient cultures sacrificed so many people? who are the gods that benefit from such an act? shouldn't we be more concern about the longevity or our specie and universe exploration? why are we so irrational? we are beasts of convenience

  • I love Bertrand Russell, and the reporter...definitely not from Fox News lol

  • I'm in awe. I've never seen or heard Bertrand Russel. i've read and have a couple of his books. This is absolutely fantastic. The quality of the video is impressive.

  • Wow, this subject matter and moderated by a woman - seems well ahead of its time to me.

  • Back when the media did it's job.

  • I'll be glad when the question is asked why are you a Christian? And the questioner leans in and looks at you like a loon for believing such non sense....

We swung out of the trees developed language built communities, technology started to advance and then the world went insane and needed to credit a ghost for the work we just achieved...

I'll be glad when the mentally ill forget how to procreate and the sane send our Genes off on a more noble path.

  • The great Bertrand Russel!

  • @classicallady Wonderful man thanks for sending me this. xx
