George Harrison, once spent an evening playing George Formby (1904-1961) records to Bob Dylan, who remained quite baffled and impervious to the Lancashire ukulele virtuosos' charms. Pete York, drummer with Spencer Davis is also a Formby
fan and gives his own eerily accurate immitation of his unique vocal style. George has been described as being 'daft as a brush' a rather unfair assessment in the view of many leading musicologists.

These Micro Fiber cloths are the best. I think that the best deals are from Smeer Free. I like the fact that they are ECO Smeer Free. We need to really start caring about our earth.
I've seen this guy on a website called Splitting Images as a look-alikey. I must admit he looks nothing like George but damn his voice is spot on. If I hadn't seen his face on this vid I'd swear it was the King of Wigan himself.
What a wonderful impersonation of the great man! Smashing uke playing, great Formby timing&pitch and even the cheeky expressions! Best I've ever heard or seen. You deserve to be known globally for this, that's the truth! More power to you!
Wow gerry - that was amazing! George was a wonderful man and you have done nothing but justice to his memory. I was given a ukulele for my birthday 3 weeks ago and I am completely addicted. I've just mastered this song and was looking for some inspiration when i came across your video - and boy, have I been inspired! When I have practiced it a bit more, I might even post a vid of me playing it...
nelliejellynoonaa, you *must* get your tribute on You Tube as soon as. George has been my own reason for living, for nearly 60 of my 68 years, and I still love him to bits. Google me, and I will tell you more about the man, and the dynamic lady behind him.
Look at *Churchill's World Cup Message* - on You Tube - and you will see me as Winston Churchill (recorded last May, on Paddington), doing my utmost to spur-on the England team, in advance of that disappointing outcome.
I only came across it this evening, so there you are, I've got another You Tube appearance in the Pipe...no pun intended.

So nice to hear you enjoyed this piece, which I did about eight years ago, at the end of an otherwise unrelated TV commercial shoot called *Life Is Boring Without Music*. My uke - I have about six - is a Jack Abbott Special, which he made for me in 1974, if I remember correctly...and it gets better with every year that passes. giggle. Cheers. Gerry.
It looks great. What others do you have in your stable? What banjo uke would you recommend for someone looking with so so skill? Also - more videos of George Formby songs, please!
Dale, you are in the land of the finest banjo-ukuleles ever made. The Ludgwig - made pre-war by the Ludwig Drum Company, of Damien Avenue, Chicago -was a favourite with George Formby, and he was lucky enough to own two concert classic models. If you can get such an instrument, do so, and grab it with both hands.
I've got four Abbott ukes, Dale, plus a UB Gibson (like George's), and Windsor Whirl. Pre WWII, Gibson made marvellous ukes, and you might get a used one, if you hunt hard enough. Good luck. Gerry.
Dear Jim, I would be delighted to record anything for your archive. This was me, relaxing in between filming an unrelated television commercial, in a field near London, about eight years ago. Cheers. Gerry George.

Many thanks for ths EddieMemphis; your kind words meaning everything to me. I loved the man, in that he was all that, and more of his screen persona. Cheers. Gerry.
