  • DANGEROUS Don Rich!

  • This song is the song I equate with Buck Ownes.

  • Don Rich!!!! Great talent!

  • Buck would have never made it big had it not been for the musical genius of Don Rich and there's some who say the ungrateful sonofabitch never deserved him. Perhaps the most unlikeable man in all of C & W--Buck Owens. Sure love to see Don's superlative licks though!

  • Miss you both Buck and Don. Buck was never the same after the tragic motorcycle accident that took the life of his musical soulmate. I'm so glad to see this performance on here.

  • Don Rich's playing is what good country picking is all about! Don really made the "whole sound" shine with his Telecaster and harmony vocals. Any idea who the (heard but not seen) piano player is?

We miss you Don & Buck!

  • Best harmonies ever, Don Rich was under appreciated by everyone except Buckaroo fans !

  • Buck Owens went through a severe depression when his best friend and band mate Don Rich died from a motorcycle crash. Today's country doesn't even come close to having the talent that Buck Owens and the Buckaroos had. Thanks for posting!

  • @24klc67 amen

  • Anyone have Buck & the Boys in London. Seem to remember something along those lines. Royal Albert or London Palladium.

    Thanks a million.

    Canadian FAN !!!!!!!

  • Hee Haw=EPIC

  • That Girl at the beginin is real perty!!!

  • I love the story behind this song... The guys who wrote it were driving along, wanting to write a new song, and they kept passing Exxon stations, who had tigers on their signs, so they used that as the basis of the song. I think it's funny how such a huge hit could come from seeing too many Exxon stations... Lol, I love this son!!!!!!!!! :D

  • Can't be beat!!

  • he looks like hed b a funny sob

  • I'd give my left nut for Don's Tele!!!!

  • ahh man i remember riding in the car with my grampa and this song was on i was like 6 years old. lmao never gets old

  • That blonde in the first 2 seconds is kinda foxy

  • I'm 14, and not "redneck" or "hillbilly" at all, but I do love country western. :) If only kids nowadays liked Buck Owens.. if only...

  • Wow -- 1969? That was the year we married, and the moon landing occurred-during our honeymoon. Amazing...brings back memories. I wasn't into country back then, but I do remember seeing/hearing this...probably cause of my Dad watching Hee Haw. What a hoot! (as in "hootenanny")

  • two people missed the like button, i love the blonde in the intro,

  • HEHE ole Buck at the HEE HAW Show!

  • Thanks Heywoodjosh for the clip.

  • "Here's BUCK!"

    Her voice cracks me up.

  • ITS GOOD

  • WHOS BUCK OWENS

  • @hali046969 I'd suggest looking in the Country Music HOF... you will find all you need right there...

Big Don was THE MAN... gone WAY to early...

  • @nintendo64ization2 he passed away 4 years ago. he was 76.

  • Don was the greatest backing vocals EVER!

  • This takes me back to being a kid growing up on the farm and my mother had the old radio playing in the farm house and this song was high on the charts

  • wish country was like this still!!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!

  • Country Music at it's best, it never sounds out of date.

  • i like that girl in the beginning with the pink on!! shes beautiful!

  • Buck seems to back off on the 'twang' of earlier versions of this song. That's the best part! (even if it is corny!)

  • Seen them in Person. Great !!!

  • Don i miss you. istill remember wherei was when i found out he had died, my dad

    loved this song too.

  • Buck and the boys would come in at one 90 minute or so session and record a season's worth of songs for the shows, according to the show's producers.

  • Don Rich rocks !! Buck always give him a chance to shine in his band. Man had confidence and talent. Wish they were still around

  • @atp1962 I second that emotion.

  • Holy cow! You've got some real gems. Don Rich is the ultimate twanger!

I need to find a rock to hide under.

  • Love, Love, Love, Buck...5 stars*****

Hugs, ELvA JOaN in rural La.

  • Great performance! Which year is that?

  • 1969 on Hee Haw

  • love buck

  • Right on!! Don is all over that Telecaster in this one!! I like the original bass guitar line over this one, though.

But, you just can't beat Don Rich and Buck Owens together!! Today's country doesn't even come close.

  • @mopac1 I agree!

  • tear it up don boy!
