I can only agree with you on this. I know in the Netherlands it is not as bad as in the US but things are going down here as well. All the cuts on things we need like health care and the higher prices off food, rent etc. More people are unemployed, they get poorer. The elderly get less care and more people having debts. We have a Libertarian/ Christian government who just thinks how to cut costs on really everything except their own salary.......

Poverty exists simply because people care more about spending money on weapons than on food to help each other. Check out the defense budgets of any country on Earth and compare that dollar amount to what they spend on their people to help them...therein lies the problem, and the solution.

I'm technically living in poverty. My take home pay in America is currently about $650 USD a MONTH. There just isn't any work where I am or anywhere around it unless you happen to have experience. I guess companies expect you to be born with experience since nobody is willing to train. If it weren't for family helping me out I would indeed be on the streets as one would need at least $1500 a month here to live on your own. Such a wonderful world we live in.

What I don't understand is this: why did the majority of the Dutch voted for a government who keeps the rich rich and makes the poor poorer?
