  • ....And let's not forget the addition of the lyric "God is an american" in Reznor's version, which is an extremely NIN thing to do.

  • @DamianVanCamp Bowie Did say "God is an American." in this version....

  • There's no question that this is all Eno's work because of three distinct things: 1. The sound of the guitars in the chorus, 2. The presence of a female-sounding voice, and 3. The lyrics. In Reznor's version, the guitars in the chorus are more of a synth buzz, the female voice disappears, and the chorus becomes "I'm afraid of americans" all the way through the song, as opposed to "I'm afraid of the animals." The first verse also gets moved and becomes the third in Reznor's version.

  • Both versions I've heard are damn good.

  • amazon.co.uk/Earthling-Digibook-Expanded-David-Bowie/dp/B00027LCR6 credits NIN on the original showgirls version. That makes sense musically.

  • Definitely the original.

  • Been waiting for this version to be posted. I don't think Nine Inch Nails had anything to do with this one though. this was before their association began. Think this is all Bowie and Eno.

  • @bmusitan kudos.

  • @bmusitan Maybe TrentReznor/NIN is/are simply uncredited, although there's nothing here which Eno could not have done himself.
