  • God I love cannonball. I tried one at a band competition, and even though my reed was chipped to hell, it was still one of the best sounds I had ever made.

  • i guess no one likes the dodgers that much :P the stadiums half empty

  • @fusionfallgamer Yeah everyone is fashionably late in LA. They stroll in around the 4th inning :)

  • Oh god I got goosebumps!

  • wow amazing

  • he killed it

  • I don't know what you guys are talking about that sounded pretty good. Granted, it wasn't anywhere near lenny pickett or Kenni Holmen.

  • Aside from Lenny Pickett on pretty much every SNL broadcast in the past 10 seasons or so, I've never heard that high of an altissimo.

  • Awesome tone, Is that a cannonball sax?

  • What I disliked about the altissimo isn't the intonation, but the lack of vibrato. It really adds a lot if you add some vibrato to altissimo notes. When I solo, I try to do that when I end on a high note like that. Other than that, it was pristine.

  • That was decent at best, until he got to the ending altissimo, then I lost all respect for him as a saxophone player, if you can't do it right, and make it sound good, then don't do it. Especially on out national anthem.

  • why not just use a soprano

  • @neil77fergy

Where's the fun in that? lol

  • @Scariestkiller - There's a lot of fun. Trust me.

  • There is a lot of people who can't make difference between a school children and a professionnel,,,,,,My friend, You play very well!!!!

  • Falls were giving me a headache.

  • @fuzzmaster56 amen!

  • AHHH thats soo hard to do! i can barley go close to that on an alto

  • that was simply great... it's completely ok, I don't what are you talking about. Even the best sax player' altissimo is a little bit out of tone. The sax is not built to be completely in tune in that register. That is also true on clarinet or flute.

  • @strigyes umm the instrument is built but is dependent on the player to get it into tune, the altissimo register you need to find the best fingering and there is a few out there.

  • Reverb has nothing to do with hitting altissimo you should her the notes in your head before you even hit them.....but not bad in my opinion but man the ending was rough lol but I feel ya on the reverb it hard against a wall and altissimo is hard enough to the fact that reeds are so inconsistent...

  • it's better to go for it when you feel it (even if the intonation is off a bit)

    at least he has balls

    good job Elan

  • i love the tone elan, these h8ers are deaf

  • I don't even care if that sounded bad. That was awesome.

  • Nah man....great job here. I feel your pain with the delay thing. Happened to me at a show....I would play, and then get the reverb. It really does screw you up.

  • Killin it my friend!!! Your out there giving it 110 percent. Killer.

  • ORIGINAL AND WONDERFUL .

the sax music is one of the more complet and exquisit of th music world.

    master of masters

    perfect light and

    king of kings

    Mr jesus super star

  • LOL it was goin really well till he added the altissimo at the end .... Just because you can play in the high resgister does it mean that it will sound good on every song/peice of music.... that was bad judgement....... Less is More

  • OK let me defend myself here :) Dodger Stadium has a 1 second delay and that was the first time I had ever used in ear headphones while playing. It really affected my intonation and it just didn't feel right. And for what it's worth, I had a little extra inspiration to take a couple chances on my rendition after seeing Mir- Ben-Ari "The Hip Hop Violinist" perform it at the game the day before.

  • @etmuzikknow know how you feel. any instrument with something in your ear sucks.

  • @etmuzik don't listen to the monitors you should be able to hear your horn just from it's own power. I mean it's a horn. So next time that happens and your playing alone. Just own that shit and lay out a sick solo go into your head and don't listen to anything but the sound coming directly out of your horn.

  • @etmuzik you did amazing..ive been playing for 10 years now...and i think ur great and i love the sax as well...is it a cannonball i have a black raven alto saxophone-canonball :)

  • @jabari22 idk if that's him

  • ugly

  • that was sick

  • jumped up the octave, it would have been ok, but he just kept going higher and higher and higerrrrrrrr. Up till that octave jump, he was GREAT

  • Lovely rendition until the end. Yuck. Looks like vocalists are not the only ones to murder the National Anthem with attempted musical pyrotechnics. Whenever I hear someone take "... land of the freeeeeee" up a fourth on "free" I want to slap them with a large fish. Sorry, but when you are doing the National Anthem, it's not about YOU. It's about respect for your nation. Save the extreme altissimo and R&B licks for a club gig.

  • truedat

  • @scocad ^what this guy said. except for pretty much to any national anthem. Too many liberties always being taken =/

  • SO MANY HATERS HERE...

  • yup, agreed. Love Altissimo in its tasteful place in a song and when its done in good tone. The Anthem didn't deserve that.

  • Well played or not, I just thought it was done in poor taste. Of course that's only my opinion.

  • It's a valid criticism that the altissimo sucked. It doesn't matte if he hit it the best someone possibly could, if it didn't sound good, it's bad.

  • @snoopyflick lol he didnt hit it the best someone possibly could. it was the wrong notes and poor tone- of course someone could do better haha :)

  • @snoopyflick yes but altissimo notes arent played in a concert setting for that very reason. im a saxophonist who can play altissimo and i know quite well that they are strictly for solo playing. they arent always in tune, they dont always sound the best but the audience loves them thats why people use them.

  • @musicislife2716 Yeah, I thought it was good for a baseball game.

  • @snoopyflick stfu u prolly can't even play in the normal octave. If you even understand what that is.

  • @snoopyflick man shut up. You probably can't play one single instrument. Yet alone a sax in the octave that he just played.

  • amazing

  • Altissimo is generally interesting to add on to some tunes....just doesn't sound musical when you add it to the national anthem :-I

  • Hahaha @ 1:52 The camera fainted 'cause of the altissimo notes, and then regained consciousness! XD

  • Really 24262748?

  • the note did come out right, and it WAS the correct one.

  • Wrong, the note was about 40 cents too low. But im sure everyone on youtube thinks your an idiot and didnt listen to you anyway.

  • What an awful tone, not to mention the uncontrollable vibrato, it really sucks !

  • do u even play saxophone?

    if so how long?

cuz he did an amazing job

  • how is it uncontrollable? he did it didnt he? unless you cant tell the difference in between your weak shakey embouchure and a real vibrato?

  • very cool from a saxophone players point of view but might want to take it easy on the high notes with a song that is so well known

  • lol i love the effects when he gets to the altissimo

  • loved it!

  • terrible

  • You went for that E!!!

  • That was cool but he kinda killed the ending with that super high note

  • It was the right note, it just didn't come out right. It happens a lot.

  • that is amazing

  • Nice!

  • What Sax is that?

  • OSHIT

  • I'll throw in another $1000 for this ending.
