You really cant name one, because his voice is so generic that it matches all of its predecessors. He is an amazing guitarist and songwriter, but his voice is the only average thing about this band. If i wanted to name better ones: Chuck of Death, Lord Worm of Cryptopsy, Ross Dolan from Immolation, Frank Mullen of Suffocation. There are better vocalists, but his style is in no way bad, just generic.

@Erithos Yeah there's no doubt they're incredible musicians. I dunno how you can say their music's soulless though, a good number of their solos are composed near-perfectly and show emotion. Also they never claimed to be brutal lol. They're Technical/Progressive Death Metal. Obviously there are much more brutal bands like Beneath the Massacre. And Necrophagist plays in standard D (not low). Their new shit will have 7 strings though, so they'll have a much lower (and hopefully more brutal) sound.

Well I actually enjoy Necrophagist's clean/not too distorted sound, it really makes it easier to fully grasp their incredible riffs. I definitely listen to my fair share of brutal stuff but I count on Necrophagist as a band I can always come back to for a not overly distored (but still heavy and awesome) sound.

@Bzong This album was written (mostly) by Muhammed Suicmez, you're right about that. The drums are all real though; it was their earlier album (Onset of Putrefaction 1999) that had a drum machine. It was re-released with an actual drum track in 2004 though, the same year of Epitaph. This music is in no way robotic and monotonous, just beastly as shit haha. Everyone to their opinion, but boring is the last thing these guys are. Check out their other songs. You seem to not know much about them :)

Something about them just never stuck with us, take it or leave it, we always left it. That being said Suicmez is one of the best guitarist in the world i think, great writer and musician.
