As I watch Miss Hyman sing.. I am reminded of the time when "great singers" truly felt the words they sang. Go back and look at some of the best female singers and you will see just what TALENT! is. Billie,Sarah,Ella.. The look of pain and joy on their faces. They were will to open wounds and their hearts to give you a glimpse of themselves. I have everything this great lady sang.. and I will cherish her, for allowing us see who she was through her music.

She didn't make it on her own merit. Phyllis was and is great. She just had some problems and needed help. Things were different back then, and she may not have known how to handle her problems.

The VH1 program "Unsung" did a documentary 45 minute segment on her which tries to explain all the things going on in her life leading up to the suicide. It's here on YouTube. It's a beautiful & yet truly sad story of the end of a Dynamitely Awesome career.
