great kicks all around and especially loved the kiyap at 1:15 but I was wondering is this in America or do they hang the American flag at all TKD dojos like we hang the Korean flag at all of are dojos?
He didn't actually get kicked. It was just a friendly gesture. I'm a White belt and I know this. My instructors kid this way too. It makes it a fun learning environment rather than them being always strict.
He didnt kick his student in the head. The master was so skilled that his timing allowed for him to kinda wrap his leg, where his knee bends around the back of the guys head, it was done in what i thought was a very "friendly" manner. Not too mention higlhy highly skilled!! :)
are you guys for real??? the only guy who had an actual nice kick is the master, the students dont chamber their legs for the axe kicks, not one of them leaned back to avoid a spinning hook kick, no one chambered there leg on the hook kick, they have mediocre kicks at that. all of them almost fall over after doing the turn kick hook kick combo
@safaatkd i think the opposite, if the trainee is adult the a disipline in the form of violence will work, do you think that guy is going to carry on kicking like that or is he going to improve his accuracy so he doesn't get hit again
@Minecow with all my respect, have you heard about something called "mentally prepared"?
when you do speed training so your job is speed, when you do accuracy training your job is doing accuracy, your mental and body prepared for that, otherwise if you do speed training and think someone will kick you, you can't perform ur best.
Remeber the trainee's job is only kick the target to improve his kicks, he is not in sparring.
@safaatkd More like he was just having fun with his student. Hell my Tae Kwon Do instructor gets cheap shots in on me when I do paddle drills all the time. It shows me that I need to work on closing my openings and plus I know he's just playing around. It's not like he's intentionally going for a knock out kick.
The way you talk about your instructor, I do the same but with the kids in my gym to make it fun, it's good for kids.
Training method should be different when a instructor teach kids or adults, high level or beginners.
A good coach must have sense of humar, know the right time to make students laughing to get rid of pressure and tiredness, but kick student in the head this not fun at all.
@safaatkd I agree with you on that too. To some kids getting a kick to the head like that would be scary and intimidating and might even effect a student from coming back to future practices in fear of being hit like that again. That's why most instructors do it to the kids they know will just laugh it off like I would. Like I said in my other comment my instructor gets cheap shots in on me whether it be the head or torso, but I just laugh it off :)
very good video. very teachful. Undisciplined and childish coach.
A coach should not kick his trainee like this.
