Down here in Dallas Texas, the people railed against a horse slaughter house that was shipping the meat overseas. now that they have won, starving abused horses are everywhere because there is no where for them to go.

In my experience over the years, I've seen this almost always happens because the owners were suffering from:

1. Severe financial setbacks or problems

2. Severe mental issues, including senility

3. Severe drug and/or alcohol abuse

.

Thank god for the people with the guts to:

1. Report it

2. Do the rescue and rehab work

3. Do the fund-raising, and all the pesky legal and other paperwork. :-)
