Here's an easy way to fix this: buy a PS3. Microsoft is the most retarded company on the face of Earth. They can't make good game consoles, they can't make good computers, they can't make good software/operating systems, they're absolute sh*t. Sony is truely better. Apple is truely better.

@OriginalMkylem oh and have my credit card and personal data taken... nah.... then have no online for a month... nah...I agree apple is better... but sony... only for radios... oh wait.. thos suck 2. lol. but sreiously ps3 is nice and the console was almost problem free... but the online sux and isnt secure. xbox og system sucked.. but online rules... also microsoft makes no computers.. lol and my windows system has operated fine... lol.

all you have to do is tell them you got the red rings and then afterwards tell them now you're xbox wont read discs and they'll fix it for free, if theres no red rings then yea you'll have to pay but anytime you see something wrong with you're xbox and you know ur gonna have to pay for it to get it fixed just throw the good ol' red rings in there when you're talking to them and ur set all you have to do is wait for the mother fucker to get back.

yo theres a magnent on the center piece that spins the cd if i comes off and gets struck to the top of the dvd rom drive it will do that!!

CAN SOMONE HELP ME!? MY Xbox 360 got this similair problem I think all from the first week, but the last 4-5 months my xbox 360 eather start up, the dvd room spins normal/fast but then suddunly it just slow down and stop spinning. It can also happend after a couple minuts of playing and when it starts loading the dvd rom while in a game it slows down and stop. Somtimes I get a "disc read error", but other times I just get a freezed screen. This problem happend with all my games, not dvd movies.

1) Try cleaning the dvd lens with alcohol and a q-tip.

2) If your 360 is making the grinding noise, clean the spindle of the dvd rom drive.

3) If none of those solve the problem, check out my video, it's an original and working fix for the laser that is very simple.

pull the laser abck as close as you can get it to the motor that spins the disc. that happens to mine and that how i fixed mine but after a pull the laser back it will spin it for a while then stop then it will spin it again then it will stop again

the top magnet might be loose. all you have to do is take out the dvd drive, open the little circle thing on hte top, and spin the magnet back into its socket and lock it.

I had the same problem, bought new drive & now the new drive gives me a message to put this (game) disk in an xbox 360......What do I do?

i bought call of duty and ive been playin it for like 10 days and then everytime i want to play it...some of the maps dont load and it says disk unreadable or the disk is damaged...the disk has no scratches and nuthin......but my 360 kinda fell on the floor hard and i dont no if its becuase of that and the game was also in the console when it fell

dude this is happening to me to but mine is spooling for like a second then stops if i open and close the drive a shit load of times it work sometimes im gona call first to see what they say otherwise im gona buy another drive myself if its cheaper thiers a video on here that does a xbox elite break down they say the name of the drive you can try that.
