because there pussys.these rifles dont kick no more than a 30-30.grow up people and stop whining about a rifle kicking.if you cant handle the kick dont shoot.leave the shooting to the big boys and play with your toys
@highcountry74 honestly a shotgun kicks worse than most rifles i have ever shot especialy the magnum rounds for ducks and turkeys. I agree recoil isnt as bad as what is made out to be in most cases.
i dont mean to insult anybody but i dont understand how people think this gun kicks...i have a 91/30 with no modifications whatsoever (not even a turned down bolt) and i shoot both the full metal jackets and soft points and i feel nothing at all....im not a big guy- five foot eleven and i weigh 130 lbs yet people much larger than me whine about the recoil....why?
wow i would love to have one of those for my m44, it hurts my fingers so bad tryin to put that on saftey, not to mention trying to do it quietly, i got a standing bet with a buddie of mine who has a lee enfield, whoever gets a deer with there ww2 era rifle first get there tag paid for by the other person, i already shook on it so i gotta figure somthin out
I have seen a mod that cuts the spring down to reduce the tension. I have not used it. I keep hoping that someone will come up with an aftermarket spring with a lighter pull but still enough to make the firing pin work
i bet that ring hurts like hell on your thumb if you have it behind the ring when it fires. good idea, but id prefer not to bother with it. when i want to keep mine safe, i just keep the bolt handle pointed up. im the poor guy.
The first day I fired my M38, I put 5 rounds through it (after I'd fired about 200 from my Saiga) and I was beyond done. These babies are no joke! I will probably end up (finally) getting into reloading so that I can make myself some milder target loads.
your an idiot all my mosins are in original condition. any of mine you see that are modified are ones i bought that were in parts or salvage. I have over 50 of them You dont even have one to sell probably
It's his rifle to do with as he pleases. Besides, these rifles were made by the millions and are still plentiful enough that you can buy them for around $100 wholesale. Most guys buy several, preserve most of them (doing their part for historical preservation) and either restore or modify one or two, just for fun. Almost all Mosins were arsenal-refurbished at some point and very, very few have true matching parts anyway...so "originality" is relative.
I have over 30 of them that are original. I have several that are "shooters" made from spare parts or restored junk. All the ones in my videos are not my originals with matching numbers. I dont count reburbished arsenal strick though numered parts as originals.
These can be found on eBay for $24.95 seller name is max_shepherd. A must have for any Mosin.

Why do you use the cocking ring when you can just cock it with the bolt? Just don't eject a round.
AaronPhelps1992 2 years ago
you dont cock the bolt with it. Its for turning the saftey on and off.

sssaam17 3 years ago
Day and night the wood stock I shoot 30-40 rounds and i am done. with a ATI stock I can shoot over 100+ before I call it quits
