  • I have dyed several times and saw your mixed dyes sitting on the table. Im just curious how you store your dyes and how long do they last as a mix? I know they can be stored in the refridgerator also.

  • @codie8569 i dont store them anywhere i leave them on the table until theyre gone. ive never had any issues with it

  • one last thing bro, how long should I soak t-shirt in soda ash?

and what kind of color you use? I bought one, but They say

I have to boil the dyes and also put shirt into it for one hour.

You just put the dye strait to the shirt, I need that kind

    of dyes.. =)

    waiting for you replying

    Thanks

  • @Leephongsavanh they say you should soak the shirt in soda ash for 15 minutes. but i let it soak for like 5 and its fine. i use procion mx dyes i get them from prochemicalanddye(.)com under the "cotton and other plant fibers" tab. the dye comes in a powder then you have to mix it with water in a squirt bottle. you can watch my video on mixing the dyes on my channel.

  • @colorfulsteve thank you so much bro, I sub you and like on your page, If I have any more problem I will be back again.. Nice VDO bro it helps me a lot!

    Thanks!

  • Hey bro,

Do we have to put sal into the color? somebody told me that

inorder to make color long lasting?? is it true??

    Please answer.

  • @Leephongsavanh i dont put anything into my dyes besides water. i do soak the shirt in soda ash solution though which makes the fabric absorb the dye

  • Should you rinse the shirts off to get out excess dye after your 6-8 hours?

  • @colorfulsteve how many hours is it best to leave it dry? ://

  • @KLVS13CITY after you dye it i usually let it sit for 6-8 hours some people say 4-6 hours

  • can you use a different color than black for the stripes?

  • @voxsk8r402 yes you can use any color

  • I did this and it turned out great!!! :D

  • @1McKenzie5 thats awesome!

  • Nice! :O I was wondering how to do that!

  • Is the black on the back or front or both??

  • If u add black only on the back them is there only stripes on the back?

  • @mromar53 no front and back

  • Can you do this without adding the black to the back side?

  • @kevin92896 yes. you will get a normal swirl without the stripes

  • 6 to 8 hours or 68 hours?

  • awesome!

  • @lallumusi5 im not going to make a video on it becuase i dont have any sweatshirts on me but to tie dye a sweatshirt you do the exact same thing you would for a shirt it just requires alot more dye and bigger rubberbands.

  • this is so fucking sick! i'm forsure going to make one like this :)

  • this might be a really stupid question, but what do you do with the run off under the wire rack? If you don't use a lot of dark colors, is that mixture of dye reusable?

  • @thenameiseleanor i dont reuse the dye

  • thats sweet dude

  • Hi I want to ask, the dye's that you are using are for dyeing in hot water or not?

If yes so you not dying in hot water, and the colour not fade out?

  • @Daniokas i rinse my shirts in cold water

  • @colorfulsteve But when you dyeing you use cold dye. So the dyes that you use are for cold water? Because I see dyes, that you need to use hot water when dyeing.
