I don't think all Muslims are extreme. I'm sure you're a peaceful person, as many Muslims are. But the foundational texts of Islam are what motivate extremists. Nazis weren't motivated by the Bible, they were motivated by Hitler. The holy scriptures of Islam specify that the crime for apostasy is death. I'm aware that it also says to be loving and peaceful, but how do you determine who's extreme and who's not when the same book dictates two polar opposite actions?

@davediddlydoo And Ibn Ishaq is not an authentic source dear. There are some things written in this book which have no source while other things written are based on weak sources (i.e. weak Hadiths). The book gives the sources, and other times doesn't provides sources. Other scholars (i.e. Ibn Hisham) who came after Ibn Ishaq analysed some of the material written in this book based on historical sources we have, and claimed the weak sources in his book to have no authentic claimed proof.

The reasons why Islam has so many members now is because of a) the 'convert or die' orders given as Islam spread and conquered b) the death threat for apostasy given by Muhammad himself and c) the massive birth rates in Islamic culture. Of course some people do convert to Islam but there is evidence that many become apostates soon after.

@davediddlydoo And Ibn Ishaq is not an authentic source dear. There are some things written in this book which have no source while other things written are based on weak sources (i.e. weak Hadiths). The book gives the sources, and other times doesn't provides sources. Other scholars (i.e. Ibn Hisham) who came after Ibn Ishaq analysed some of the material written in this book based on historical sources we have, and claimed the weak sources in his book to have no authentic claimed proof.

The reasons why Islam has so many members now is because of a) the 'convert or die' orders given as Islam spread and conquered b) the death threat for apostasy given by Muhammad himself and c) the massive birth rates in Islamic culture. Of course some people do convert to Islam but there is evidence that many become apostates soon after.
