If the canadian crew in lane 2 had of raced on the left side of the race they had a shot at winning it by riding the wake and then kicking hard at the end.
Slovakian team is great for long distance because they are all world klas canoists in the boat. should won 2000m race,but get under water on the last turn. before last turn they had more like 10s lead.and what I know, they had meabe 3-4 trainings to gather before this championship. so if I will be you, I will start to be scared slovakia, because when they start doing this sport, you will sea what they can do.
sydneydragonblades that's a tasteless comment to post on a video posted by someone affiliated with the slovakian team. the lane bias added another unnecessary externality to a high level competition such as this but we'll never be able to know with certainty the final placements on another more fair race course on another with absolute certainty.
i raced in lane 2 and wish we could all just get over this.
I Stand by the comment. I'm not knocking the slovakians - no doubt they are a great crew, i'm just stating the facts, Lane 1 had a massive advantage, and Slovakia couldn't qualify for the A final.
Great video ... Totally agreed with SDB that Lane 1 has a massive advantage. no offence to the winners but we should have race in a fair race course. Coz I raced in lane 5 in the GF 200m, 500m & 1000m.
Great film. THe disappointing thing is that race course was so biased to lane 1. Slovakia couldn't even qualify for the A final of the 500 yet somehow won the 1000.
