i saw a copy of this at a store and laughed a little to myself. i have the anime series, and like it, but i didn't give the live action version much thought. then again, at the time i wasn't aware it was directed by Otomo-sensei, who is simply a brilliant storyteller, and i hadn't seen any trailers for it. now that i see this trailer though, i think it may actually be better than the anime, i'm gonna have to see!

The trailer, yes. It's obviously trying to appeal to a broader audience but it feels to me like an "epic hollywood movie".
