I think that proponents of "The Secret" are somewhat divided about the word manifestation. I've heard both definitions used by proponents so that's why I chose to mention it.
I have seen people misunderstanding LOA even on here... The "Theory" of Attraction states that you can manifest or create objects from thoughts (!). No, thoughts are not tangible objects, and under no circumstance will they manifest anything.
Its not that you manifest them or create them from nothing... they already exist, but you do and say the right things to draw or "create" them in this way. You build the environment that is conducive to creating the capability of attaining the goal, which begins with thought, but it is not thought alone. It is thought, belief, feeling, action combined with the already attainable resources.
The "Metric" size of the Universe is expanding. This means that two points that were once close in relation to each other are now farther from each other. Energy and Mass are not being added. Actually, heat (and energy) are being more spread apart. This expansion could lead to what scientists call the "heat-death" of the Universe. Overall, it's a very interesting subject, but it doesn't lend any credence to the theory that conservation of mass and energy can be violated.

Think positive, have a vision, and work hard, keep at it and you will succeed. The Secret is just a re-packaged version of what you need to know to succeed. This is a gimmick based on real actual ideas. It's better to learn straight from the source. Read up on real successful people and learn their mind set and how they got where they at. Study them and apply. That is much better than anything marketed as "The Secret". There is no secret.

This actually does work yall... I think positive, therefore positive things happen to me all the time. I attract people into my life who see how positive I am and want to be around me and help me. People really do send out energy frequencies believe it or not, and people with a positive energy frequency tend to attract more into their life. Olympic athletes use this and it works. Maybe you misunderstand. They try to explain it in many different ways. But down to the end, it only mean "ask, and you shall receive". Because you are a part of God, believing in your mind does mean believing in God. Why we ask but don't receive? Because you think you believe, but deep inside your subconscious have doubts. If I prey to God without being willing to change my own thought pattern, it won't help squat.

The "Theory" of Attraction states that you can manifest or create objects from thoughts (!). No, thoughts are not tangible objects, and under no circumstance will they manifest anything.

Its not that you manifest them or create them from nothing... they already exist, but you do and say the right things to draw or "create" them in this way. You build the environment that is conducive to creating the capability of attaining the goal, which begins with thought, but it is not thought alone. It is thought, belief, feeling, action combined with the already attainable resources.

The "Metric" size of the Universe is expanding. This means that two points that were once close in relation to each other are now farther from each other. Energy and Mass are not being added. Actually, heat (and energy) are being more spread apart. This expansion could lead to what scientists call the "heat-death" of the Universe. Overall, it's a very interesting subject, but it doesn't lend any credence to the theory that conservation of mass and energy can be violated.

You don't really manifest the birdhouse from nothing, but you think, do, feel and say the right things to make your goals more attainable.

i might seem unnatural at first to consciously feel grateful for something you normally do not. But trust me, with habit, you will pick it up after a while :) Start by feeling grateful and happy about the things you have right now, and you will set yourself in the frequency to receive more from the universe. So in these examples you provide, are the perpetrators right or wrong in their belief? The only tool mankind has to discern the validity of a concept is reason. so with religions it is absurd to argue about which irrational belief is more rational, but there are obviously rational beliefs which remain valid when held to the light of reason.

That's my point. I am against any institution 'controlling' spitituality or philosophy. Because most philosophies are little more than opinions, deductions and consensus. So all groups are entitled to philosophies but using violence to impose them is unjust. So we agree.. to say one belief is better than another is absurd so equally .. to impose that belief by force is equally absurd.

And though not recognised as 'conflicts' I would regard The Chinese Communist Government imposing 'equality' on it's own people and those in Tibet, where monasteries have been destroyed, religion oppressed on the grounds of it being brainwashing and for the feeble minded. the secret law of attraction cult is a paradigm of misology-the hatred of reason. the entire premise of the secret is so full of contradictions it cannot deserve any serious thought. the secret is basically all the worst parts of Christianity regurgitated as new age gobbledygook. truth is not merely unsupported arbitrary assertions. truth must be able to withstand critical evaluation and be found reasonable or else it must be discarded as irrational and false.

One more point... the major conflicts around the world stem from and attitude of "I am right .. you are wrong and I am going to use any means at my disposal to force you to accept my way!" On a much smaller scale, like looking at someone else's beliefs in a video and then slamming it and every reply to your derision, convinced you are right and they are wrong. I'm so pleased you are not in charge of a superpower nation. Live and let live.

Also someone offering a blessing does not infer superiority... it is merely an expression of good will and a wish that you enjoy good fortune. A sort of "no hard feelings gesture."

if you acknowledge children to be victims of circumstances beyond there control then surely you would also acknowledge that billions of the poor and the feeble are not merely ignorant of this law but are also innocent victims of their unfortunate circumstances. likewise those who enjoy power and privilege do not do so merely by this law, but by exploiting the unfair advantages dealt them by circumstance. ie inheritance, race, gender...
