We just bought our 8 year old her first violin today. She had bean saying for months that she wanted to learn to play. We took her out and got her an inexpensive starter and one of the women from our church is going to give her lessons. We all play something, so I knew it was only a matter of time before she picked something she wanted. Her brother plays drums, step father the guitar, and I play flute, sax, and clarinet. I hope that she will continue to play and enjoys it.

You know the video Sophia and bella and the violinist dirty shoes well when I did my grade 1 violin I played that piece! So at the age of 6 or what ever age she was (but still young!) was playing a grade one piece!!!! Go Sophia she is amazing!!! :-)

I had to learn how to play this same song when I played the violin> i haven't played that song in years but hearing now, i still remember the fingering to that song and a flood of memories just came back to me. the early 90's are here again. lol Thank you so much and ur a talented violinist. I'm glad you remind her and don't make it a chore. My parents basically made it a chore for me to learn piano, and I can only play with one hand. Playing two handed would probably be easier if they hadn't made it a chore when I was 6-7 to learn the piano. Sophia is great!
