  • I've had a nagging tricep issue ever since I did DB tricep rollbacks while following a DeFranco program. I'll try your decline BB rollbacks and hopefully it won't hurt my elbows, like, most tricep exercises do these days.

  • Great vid Lee. I've been watching a lot of your vids and you've been helping me a lot. Thanks!

  • wow you keep teaching me new exercises,,,,,, i added the rear delt exercise, its killer.....thanks!!!!!!

  • would you not recommend keeping the elbows motionless?

  • Thanks very much for this mate, my main problem with triceps exercises was joint pain in my elbows, which meant I had to do smaller weights, which made progress painfully slow, since my triceps could handle a lot more weight than my elbow joints. After trying this out, it's a really great exercise and I can do more weight and get faster gains.

  • Its Called SkullCrushers.

  • @alex2311 you also run the risk of fatiguing and dropping it on your face. if it doesnt feel right palms out, this might not be the workout for you.

  • @alex2311

You can, but you won't be able to handle nearly as much weight.

  • @leemhayward thankyou, i have never felt any pain or problem on flat bench but after doing this on decline bench honestly it is way more effective than flat bench and brings alot more stress on the triceps muscles !.

  • are those 35's or 45's? i'm talking lbs that is... kgs would be ridiculous

  • Im definately gonna give these a try.

  • smart

  • hey lee, would it be a good idea to do this as the first exercise in a tricep workout?

  • This is a great exercise. Good idea, placing the barbell on an exercise step. I'll use that from now on when training alone.

  • my elbow feels like theres a million pins poking it evey time i do this exercise on a flat bench.. now that i've been doing this on a decline my elbows doesnt feel the pain as much.

  • That's awesome, using the decline bench makes a huge difference.

  • hi lee,

is there a reason why it feels like a million pin poking at my elbow when i'm doing this exercise on a flat bench ? how to i get rid of that, use A535 ?

  • Because the stress is all on the elbow joint at that angle. Just scrap the flat bench skull crushers and opt for the decline bench instead for this move.

  • hey guys : ).. this looks like a great excercise. however i wanna know if this excerise is better than the same skullcrusher excercise but the bench is paralell to the floor?.. or should i be doing them both? or perhaps varation, i do one of them each week?..

  • @bleach9429 i know this is 4 months late but i'll respond to you anyway. lee says in the video that the two movements are similar but he has found that the decline bench setup allows for a deeper stretch. so the difference is subtle but like all lee's suggestions- highly effective. i love traditional skull crushers too but i think im gonna give these a try

  • hey, lee, awesome exercise!!!! i tried this for the first time and i loved it. i did first in my tricep routine and followed it with dumbbell skullcrushers and then some resistance band exercises. at the end my arms felt like they were gonna fall off....lol. thanx, lee. u r awesome bro!!!

  • awesome! it looked like the bar bell was about to roll off the step thingy at the end :P

  • thx, u had me with this exercise when u said less pressure on the elbow joint cause its always giving me problems nowadays

  • i love how the decline tricep extensions take the pressure off your elbows

the flat bench variation just strains mine too much

  • did you notice the weight fell off the pad at the end

  • im gonna try it today...thanks

  • SOLID!!

  • is it true that you can bench more on decline than you would be able to if you were benching at paralel to the floor?

  • Yes, and less if you are inclined.

  • yeah with me it is. dunna about others.

  • i done this workout for 3 weeks and the result is reallyy wicked thanks for the advice lee !!

    solid-reso

  • I'm gonna try this!

  • Added this into my arm workout now, seen good progress week on week. It just seems to much easier to do this with good form and stop the upper arm moving. Can't imagine I'll do skull crushers any other way again except maybe the french press (standing with barbell overhead).

  • How many sets/reps?

  • hello lee i really enjoy your advice with your help i got 20 more pounds on my bench press in about 5 weeks but now im statring to get in a lifting rut i use to rep 135 8x but now im only getting 7 reps i dont now what happened so plz help me i want to get 185 before school ends

  • hey leemhayward. I was doing dumbell skullcrushers 3 days ago. I noticed something wrong with my right arm, about 2 or 3 fingers above my elbow. It feels like a sharp needle in my arm when I lift involving my tricep. I can still lift normally with the pain, but I don't want to damage it further.

  • do u generally train arms (biceps and triceps) on the same day? is it a good combo?

  • look on his other vids, he usually dedicates a separate workout just for arms. Personally I think you get much better results this way.

  • That comment should have gone as a reply to

    lbvedj

  • ur the greatest...blast your bench is great

  • Me too it's fine! I'll say it again Lee I love your accent! The Canadian/Irish mix is awesome!

  • No audio

  • The problem must be on your end because I can hear the audio just fine.

  • same here...

  • do they work decent on flat benches? because the bench I have at my house doesn't decline :(

  • prop the end of ur bench up with stacked weights

  • Thanks Lee

  • looks awesome ! everybody ! I tell you go on Lee's website and have the 10 tips parts .. ITS GREAT ! And its not ten parts lol I received like 75 e-mails of Lee since the beginning and he is sending me new tips !

  • Looks brilliant! Will have to try it soon!

  • I'll try it today , thanks!
