People are intended to be lactose intolerant. The only reason we don't become lactose intolerant is because we continue to drink milk past the age when drinking milk is normal. Ironically, feeding your children milk products prevents them from getting lactose intolerant.

Asians are often lactose intolerant but as a child they can digest milk fine because when they reach a certain age the enzyme lactase is no longer produced to digest lactose. So your baby is not lactose intolerant, well because its a baby.

You're right though that little spoonful won't hurt, breast is best and we are the only mammals that drink milk beyond infancy.

@lilbuns777 Actually lactose intolerance doesn't happen until they grow older into adults. Asians are often lactose intolerant but as a child they can digest milk fine because when they reach a certain age the enzyme lactase is no longer produced to digest lactose. So your baby is not lactose intolerant, well because its a baby.

@Blackrosereaper -i dont think i said that babies couldnt be latose intolerant (was it someone else?)...i dont think people should ever drink milk anyway...its for baby cows, not humans...but that's just my opinion. Just so everyone knows, i breast fed all my children, no way in hell i'd feed my kids crap from a can, i don't even eat anything from a can...i will add, on a side note, that my son was allergic to a lot of foods, including milk, soy, and corn.

This is absolutely disturbing! Babies stomachs do not have the ability to digest cows milk (which is in ice cream) or sugar at that age. You have now done major harm to your childs stomach!
