Similar support design to mine!! Very cool. i would like to know if you have any suggestions for finishing mine which you can see on my channel. My main goal was not to touch the ground (except for the ladder) and to minimize tree damage. And I added a bridge for fun!! :)
@gounc93 I guess when you donate something like this you need to make an effort to keep the man hours to a minimum. It would have been great to have it up higher but it was loved by the kids. Thanks for the feedback
@gounc93 As it was donated and I had my crew volunteering we chose to keep it low and simple so we could complete it in one day. Besides the owner was concerned about safety
Isn't half the fun of a tree house building it??? Kids these day are glued to mw2 all day or something of that hilk and b4 all you commenters say why are u on computer then, 1.I'm on Iphone's YouTube and 2. I've built a treehouse of my own ok it's not as glamerouse as this but I still can say I... Built it!!!!
Is the roof sealed around the tree? Is there a concern for tree growth? If not sealed, How is the floor treated to prevent rot from the water coming inside? Just curious.
@7car7 The floor is plywood. The roof was left a couple inches away from the trunk. The treehouses usually have a short lifespan because the kids grow up fast. Any water that runs down the trunk will drain out the bottom so not rot concerns
The materials were approx. $2500 and 7 carpenters worked on it for 10 hours. Even at $40 an hour that would be a deal. Our hourly rate is more than $40.

whats the point of building a tree house , if you aren't building it yourself..the fun of it is to build it by yourself and make mistakes..
well i hope it fun for the kids because they certainly deserve it..

I do so agree with 'upussey'.
Mainer1945 1 year ago
gee kids can't even build or help build their own tree houses today. no skills learned
no safety learned
and built so low to the ground if they fall it will be safe, so they never learn to be aware as well.
upussey 1 year ago 14
@upussey Agreed. when I have my own kids they will surely be apart of the process
