  • ooohhhhh my next dream guit fiddle...nice post.....check out my "Shame on you Rickenbacker" series if you want to....it will tell the story of my first Dream Guit Fiddle......and are you using a Fender amp? My current amp is a AC 30....and I cant wait to play the White Falcon through it.

  • @SydbarF

A Vox AC 30 would go grdat with this guitar! :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • @Stichfam I am a fan..love your style...thank you for liking my vid...you made my day...loved the live shot of you playing...

  • its good but i'm sorry gretsch should never be modified in my opinion i love the pickups they come with

  • A nice guitar and great presentation! Thanks

  • @chevapi

    Thank you! :)

  • I have this guitar tattooed on my arm exceot its the 60s one. The sad part is I can't afford one :(

  • hi there, i have a telecaster custom with humbucker-slots, having tried tv jones on your gretch, but also phat-cat p90s on your jazzmaster, which of the two do you think would best suit a telecaster? thanks :)

  • Wow, That's a Hard one :)

A Telecaster has completely different dimensions,

I'd say, Find the closest to a Humbucker but I bet the TV Jones would give a Gretsch edge, Twang and the Phat Cats would give a P-90 Sound, yet it would still sound like a Telecaster cause of the guitar and dimension.

They'd give a different slant to a Tele.

    All personal tastes!

I've seen Teles with Gretsch Humbuckers in there.

I'd like to hear the results too cause I've never done that before myself,

  • Also, Phat -cats would sound really powerful and bright on a Tele I think?

    Maybe too much?

All personal taste to of course!

  • I feel that the guitar is not easy to play.. dispite the sound..

  • @Pan3405

A Tru Arc Bridge does help though.

It's probably not as smooth as a Gibson but I get used to it

  • awesome playing and sound. Is it me or is the action incredibly high on that? Maybe I'm just used to having the strings very low. Anyhoo, great job and beautiful sounds.

  • @homersimps1

    Many Thanks, Homer ,,,

I think the action is probably about average ,,

  • Classic Gretsch sound, love the double cutaway!

  • hey men can you help me with the measures of the body?? please is very important

  • Damn! That sounds amazing!

  • @utubeusername13

    Many Thanks!,,

  • if you wonder you can play rock with it..

Check out Triggerfinger Belgium pride "blues rock" style check is it or something..

Triggerfinger is it live lowlands really amazing sound with a gretsch!!

  • Sweet!

  • It sounds really crispy, and I really like your playing as well.

  • @schwank167

    Thanks!,,

  • great gretsch sound

  • @The170460

    Thanks!

  • is the red guitar in the back an airline?

  • @DerBari90

    It's My Gretsch Streamliner!

  • Are you Mel Bay?

  • @KokotTheMonkey

    Thanks for writing!

Just got around to viewing the responses.

I do dig Mel Bay! :)

  • Made in jap ?

  • Perfect sound. What amp?

  • @guitarcapo

    Thanks!

I was just using a 1973 Fender Princeton Reverb,

  • Cool cat guitar rock n roll mind.

  • @1rocknroy

    Thanks!

  • What is the song you start playing at the start and go till about 40 seconds, you play it in alot of your videos.

  • @whitefalcon113

    Hi Whitefalcon 113,

Thanks for checking out my Videos :)

Towards the end, I play, "The World is waiting for the Sunrise"

It's a common, Banjo type of song - Lol!

One of my Faves from way back.

  • Doesn't a guitar like that come with Filtertrons stock ?

  • @rhykko77

    They do!

Gretsch Filtertrons which aren't bad either

  • Fantastic guitar and playing!

I've been considering a 6136DC as well. Just curious, had you tried out other models of White Falcon? How does the DC measure up against them? I understand the single-cut are a little thicker, which I imagine would impact the sound.

  • Hi mmordac,

I did try out the other models and the DC just felt better to me like a Country Gent.or even a Gibson ES 335.

The other Models are Nice of course but more like a Jazz Box, More Hollow, maybe more limited.

,, I think the DC, being alittle thinner like a 335 is extremely Versatile and of course I like the looks.

The Doublecut with the slightly thinner body was my guitar of choice.

  • Many Thanks for checking out my Vid too :)

  • what do you start playing at 1:08. Sounds really good.

  • Hi Parley,

Around 1:08, I'm playing, "The World is Waiting for The Sunrise"!

  • Absolutely beutiful guitar

  • what amp?

  • Thanks!

  • gretsch as gretsch can!

    nice one!

  • Luv it!

  • Thanks! :)

  • pretty sweet.

  • Man I am having Gretsch envy right now, nice tone brother.

  • Nice tone,Stich knows where the tone is!

  • that guitar is so nice

  • man that the sound of cool.... i have a brian setzer 6120 its just made for that rockabilly stuff

  • dude you rock.....your upgrades are awesome and your playing is beyond soulful...thanks for sharing.

  • that's exactly the sound i think you should get from a gretsch white falcon, i hate when people wanna play metal/rock on them

  • Exactly.. I like a blues tone with a slight crunch

  • Its a great all around sound. Metal not so much, but blues rock or funk/funkrock? YES PLEASE.

  • Love this guy, envy his neighbors.

  • There ain't nothing like THAT sound, right...can never leave mine standing at home when goin' out to play! Your playing is inspiring, thnx

  • Bad Ass!

  • I like the double-cutaway, that's why I'm watching this. The standard of punk-cool is the single cutaway one like the Bow-Wow-Wow guy but I've always liked these better. The Edge has a double cutaway too. You can use your thumb to mute in more ways. Lovely playing!

  • very beautiful guitar but i agree with people who say gretsch pickups are weak but its a very clean guitar if i wanted dirty les paul ftw

  • Hello I agree I don't like gretschs too dirty but a light crunch sounds great so I have posted my video to give an example

  • I love the sound of that guitar. The pickups actually do what humbuckers were supposed to do--remove hum without otherwise changing the guitar's sound. They're so bright and clear one could mistake them for single coils, yet they don't hum. It's the best of both worlds: clarity without hum. Filter-Trons, TV Jones and other Filter-Tron copies, and Wide Range humbuckers in '72 Telecasters are the few humbuckers I like. They're so unlike the Les Paul sound that's synonymous with the word humbucker.

  • It sounds best to me with both pickups selected. Beautiful guitar and great playing too! I may have to buy one of these.

  • Thanks fellows!

  • niceeee.....

  • Sounds Gretschy

  • Thanks BucksStudent and Muddy winter. That info definitely gives me a pointer I have not found elsewhere. My next question is - can a person order the WFDC with those TVJones pickups installed?

  • I'm a novice on pick up differences --why did you change? Didn't the original ones sound as good as the TV Jones? The reason I'm asking is this is going to be the next guitar I buy....

  • You decide. The Gretsch pickups are considered weak by many, and the ones in mine are. I am considering the change, but they sound good either way. You decide.

  • TV Jones Classics take the Falcon quite a few steps higher. Tone is bolder and far more refined. It is also a good idea to pimp your main volume control so you don't loose treble when you reduce volume. - Install a .001 uF cap and a 150K res, in parallel on the master volume. Wire across the number 1 and 2 lugs (#3 lug is ground).

  • o yeahhhhhhhhhhh

  • My favorite model.....the gretch white falcon....double cut-away......i like that particular bigsby as well.....

  • Great video:D

  • i'm sold

  • Damn man, thats beautiful.

  • sounds greatsch! :)
