@RollingOrmond I agree you can tell he was on drugs, but really, it actually works for the character that he's playing. I mean Tommy was supposed to be obnoxious and fast talking and kinda all over the place. However, there are so many more scenes in the movie, like when he gets outed or when he and Holly Hunter go eat dinner in the kitchen alone that he's just brilliant.
I don't approve of his drug use but I certainly don't feel that it hindered this particular performance.
Man I love this guy, he is the best ever! He looks and acts like such a kid it's sooo adorable!! Also I love his hair,it's so bouncy and beautiful. Everything about him is beauty
It's so funny! Robert Downey Jr said that he was really heavy on the drugs during this film! But he seems perfectly "normal"! lol :P I guess that shows how good an actor he is :)

Downey said he was high on black tar heroin throughout the taping of this. I don't like this character. It feels contrived.
