For all of the people complaining about this because it's not BloodRayne 3, I'll say this: After B2, I thought BloodRayne was a dead franchise. I was pleasantly surprised to hear about this one and thought it was a great game. Even though a third was intended, those plans fell through long ago, so count yourself lucky to even have this. Besides, the BR games have SyFy movie storylines anyway, they aren't that deep and they never took themselves too seriously. I don't know why some fans do.
Bloodrayne's stigma has nothing to do with the game franchise but with uwe boll's crappy movies, just like this piece of shit. SHAME ON YOU IGN for sending a guy who has no idea what the previous games were like to review this, he completely failed to understand the series and it's differences with bloodrayne 1+2. Now it's a bit harder to look past stiff controls with the likes of Super Meat Boy and New Super Mario Bros. I probably could forgive this game if it didn't have all the platforming sections because then I wouldn't need to use the awkward movements. Oh well, I guess some people can look past that, to each their own.

for their license work wayforward always had some great artists (like chris bachalo or mark brooks) for title, menu and cutscene artwork. in BR:Betrayal we have the blown up in game sprite, and the sprite isn't supposed to be shown that big. It looks unpolished. a few enemy variations (at least color variants) would have been nice too.
i was looking forward to the third installment of BloodRayne. I loved the first and second one. The first one is slightly better to me. The second one has other cool features the first one lacks and vice versa. I hoped they would bring them together, improve the graphics and give her new vicous finishers. They should make her bites/feeding more brutal and add bites to the combo like biting off a finger or two to disarm, ripping out the jugular with her teeth then watch the guy bleed to death

When i heard the game was hard i thought it was just going to be annoying like ninja gaiden 2 but it's actually fairly easy, just some bits take a bit of practice. Really enjoyed the game tho, felt alot like the old castlevanias in a way, just a shame that it was a bit short for the 1200MS points they sold it for. Oh and the music is actually really good, it even has an 8 bit music mode which feels so old skool it's awesome
I can guarantee that there will be a 3rd Bloodrayne game here soon because the Tomb Raider series did this same thing with a downloadable release before announcing the reboot :) i hope so, bloodrayne was one of my favorite games

I really don't understand how anyone can like this bloodrayne better than the first two. I mean in the first two you got to harpoon people and throw them into fans and fire pits, and there were combos where you could cut them in half and see their spine. Who wants to do that in 2D?!

BloodRayne betrayal is unapologetic about its difficulty, and you know what? That's what I LIKE! When I heard that the combat was insanely difficult because of the amount of enemies thrown at you, I knew it was a must buy. I am tired of being able to lean back and mash a button. While playing this I'm reminded of Devil May Cry and its original difficulty... what an awesome game that was.

@yannickTheGreat Because 3D is overfucking rated. There's still plenty of space for side scrollers and games like This, Megaman, Super Mario, Donkey Kong Country, ect PROVE IT. You want a 3d game. Feel free to send the devs the tens of millions of dollars to develope a decent 3d game and weather the 3+ year waiting period it'll take to develope it. When i heard the game was hard i thought it was just going to be annoying like ninja gaiden 2 but it's actually fairly easy, just some bits take a bit of practice. Really enjoyed the game tho, felt alot like the old castlevanias in a way, just a shame that it was a bit short for the 1200MS points they sold it for. Oh and the music is actually really good, it even has an 8 bit music mode which feels so old skool it's awesome

I can guarantee that there will be a 3rd Bloodrayne game here soon because the Tomb Raider series did this same thing with a downloadable release before announcing the reboot :) i hope so, bloodrayne was one of my favorite games

I jsut played the demo. And i have to agree with gamespot. The controlers are put in the back seat just to give way to neat looking visuals. Definatly wont get the whole game.

I really don't understand how anyone can like this bloodrayne better than the first two. I mean in the first two you got to harpoon people and throw them into fans and fire pits, and there were combos where you could cut them in half and see their spine. Who wants to do that in 2D?!

What were they thinking??? She controls like shit sliding on waxpaper. Her controls are some of the worst I have ever played. Most of your deaths come from her sliding all over the place. She can't can't walk slowly. Thats fucked up if wayforward did this on purpose. They could of made her control well, while still having challenging levels. If she controlled more like the guy from outland it would of been more playable. But im tired of dying becasue this bitch can't control right

What the fuck were they thinking!!! If your trying to reintroduce a franchise, make the charater controlable. Her movements are some the worse I have seen in a game. She can't walk slowly to an edge, she has to run. Then when she stops running she does this little slide. Who slides on bones, concrete, granite, etc. Why couldn't they of made it outland? Stupid fucks, its like they did this on purpose so people wouldnt get the game. I can't recommend it, if you can't control it

BloodRayne betrayal is unapologetic about its difficulty, and you know what? That's what I LIKE! When I heard that the combat was insanely difficult because of the amount of enemies thrown at you, I knew it was a must buy. I am tired of being able to lean back and mash a button. While playing this I'm reminded of Devil May Cry and its original difficulty... what an awesome game that was.

@sonic4482 Most of the old 2d Castlevania's came out on cartridge 1st, and that particular media generally didn't feature a ton of voice acting audio because of the size limitations. This guy is obviously comparing this game to Symphony Of The Night with that statement, which I'm sure you've played.
