I am reading a lot of harsh criticism. Personally, I do not know enough about this species to determine if a house is a suitable environment, but I do have a Solomon Island Eclectus parrot, and I go above and beyond for his health. I have read some articles that encourage adopting a wide variety of parrots species in order to try to SAVE the species from human encroachment, poaching, etc. So, I think it's a little unfair to judge to owner of this bird so harshly.

Question of where to get a toucan...Can you buy them from breeders or pet stores? During my stay in Memphis, Miss from 2002-till today, I've only seen a Toucan for sale at a pet store (thankfully, it wasn't Petco)
Not interested in getting another bird, my B&G is enough-got her for $600 (also had her for 10-11 years).

Relating the colors of a toy parrot and a toucan have nothing to do with the way I treat parrots. I have owned parrots for 20 years and just to let you know, all of them are in healthy condition. We are the scourge of the planet because of selfish people like you that is why the enviroment is being wrecked. Get in the real world that is a living creature with a 20 odd year life span. It is not a toy it is a living thing and should be given the greatest amount of respect which is something you clearly lack. Animals/birds are not toys.................
