REM have never been good. They are better than good and still are, they're fuckin great, they're legends. It not often you find bands still making amazing music after more than 25 years.

Yeah, Green and Out of Time are two of the best albums. How anyone could not give REM credit for being great is beyond my comprehension.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that Bill Berry occasionally used cocaine in the 80's, probably the others as well but I'm not sure! They did have a liking for alcohol though.
