well and also the weak vocals..... he sounds like he's not trying very hard :/ and i love meshuggah. this just doesn't at all sound as good as the album version
My Asshole began the process of COMBUSTION when this song started and I then began to bleed from my Urethra as my rectum became a FUTURE BREED MACHINE and in a single PERPETUAL BLACK SECOND my titties became DANCERS TO A DISCORDANT SYSTEM and wrapped themselves around my neck as they grew eyes and stared at me with a very Rational Gaze, as they ate my pubic hairs in a LETHARGICAl and inSANE manner. After this ordeal I decided to shove the NEW MILLENIUM CYANIDE CHRIST up my asshole.
They play at least at this time Line 6... and they play the same exact gear they do in the studio. They dont bump a guitar track here a bass track there... none of that.. and they are seasond player for the past 20 years +... They know how to record and they know how to play live cause they have been doin' it so long with each other. If ya join a band then stick with it if you know it's good yo!!
@TheChrispablo met and chatted to him after the last gig they did in Birmingham UK, hes a legend! and hes such a BIG MAN! his head is like 2 of my heads! propper Nord. sick bassist.
@stewartbarnes15 when kidman is recorded, he is absolutely original and no one beats his sound, i think its just him live sounding like good ol randy!
@drummersquirrel22 Jens is definetly original, In the song pravus when that huge riff hits towards the end and jens has that like 12 second yell, it gives me shivers
@drummersquirrel22 oh indeed, he is probably one of the most talented musicians out there. How he can play bleed live perfectly, as well as most other songs, is beyond me.
@stewartbarnes15 you know bleed originally wasnt going to be on obzen simply because it was insanely hard to play, it took him months to perfect it. i'm a drummer (the name sort of gives it away i guess), but i can only play the first rhythm and second rhythms perfectly now, and that's taken me aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. Anything else he plays i just give up on.
@drummersquirrel22 In an interview tomas said it took him a few months to learn the whole song. If it takes fucking tomas haake months to learn a song its got to be one crazy song. Also i play drums too, i cant play much of bleed i am in the process of trying. I can play the beginning riff for like 2 measures before i screw up. Plus i only have DW 3000 pedals. Im going to save up for some axis pedals soon, possibally get them for christmas.
My God! I NEVER get tired of New Millennium Cyanide Christ! I LOVE this song -- it's ridiculous! This and Stengah get me EVERY SINGLE TIME...the power of those men... Incredible. Cerebral music.
Wow, i'm indeed jealous, my guitar player and I don't have near this balanced of a sound live. When he goes into the solo, you can clearly here both guitars!! Rythm and lead. That's what happens when you can afford a great sound- tech dude!!
@Meshuggaaaahhhhh Aahahah! When I saw them in Vancouver, I remember something happened with the drums (a cymbal stand was falling, or something), and the drum tech had to go on stage to fix it. My only thought was "NO! Don't go that close! Mere mortals can't SURVIVE that close to Meshuggah!!"
@Thamn0S this is kind of one of those bands i would rather just observe then watch, i mean i would mosh at bands like devildriver, lamb of god etc. but would rather watch bands like this, opeth, amorphis etc, might mosh to a few songs but will mostly watch (and headbang)

I'm willing to bet that about half of meshuggah's hardcore fans are musicians, so I can see why some people don't understand how amazing meshuggah really are
The easiest way to explain the difference in Polyrhythm and Polymeter is this: Say you overlap 4/4 and 7/4, if you play the 7/4 bit slower than the 4/4 so that every measure begins and ends at the same time, that's polyrhythm. If you play both at the same tempo so that they only align after 7 measures of 4/4 and 4 measures of 7/4, that's polymeter.
Your explanation is simply put but correct. Although it must be remembered, in the context which is Meshuggah, their odd meters very often start over after an even amount of 4/4 measures; like in this song here, in the main riff, after 8 measures.
@FinkFinx yeah nobody ever uses the term polyrhythm right. so many people think mixed meter is polyrhythm, and don't realize that it's actually something different, and much more difficult to play.
i'd disagree...its one overall beat that starts and ends the progression, you can see them headbang to it, but the beats you put in between those two are just alternating in location relative to the main rhythm...so technically, its not polyrhythmic...if you want actual polyrhythms, try Sol Niger or just any Jazz kind of music
@MarkoMaddy That's Haake's thing, really. He plays ghostnotes on virtually every song. Look up some drumcams of him and take a close look, you'll see ghostnotes. I even saw him doing ghostnotes during Bleed on this DVD during a soundcheck clip.
