Regardless of the Tai people living in many different locations and being separated for a long period of time, all the Tai still bears the same identity in terms of speaking languages and rich culture. It is pretty clear that we all are from the same Tai family. The Tai culture should be shared, maintained and well preserved.
we lao lost the land to our neighbour, and our peoples are also been separate from each other, the root can tell the story. cambodian is our brother, thanks for your honestly brother.
lets move on with our lives in the US. We are only responsible for our own immediate families here. Contrary to popular belief life in the US is not as easy as most people in Vietnam think. Who is going to pay for my kids education? Who is going to make sure my kids are safe? Who is going to make sure my kids grow up to be productive, law abiding citizens?? Who will take care of my parents when they grow old??
its not called taikadai...these ppl which i am one of the taidam...originated from southern china the tai kingdom known as nan chao...there were 12 tribes who lived there...tai dam one of them...they believe the taidam language was influenced by the ancient laotians and thais...i would now bcuz i am taidam
Before Nan Chao, it was Ai Lao Kingdom, Nan Chao was created after Ai Lao Kingdom fail to the Han. Ai Lao migrated south to the Indochina Peninsular and kept the name Lao ever since. Lao refer to each other as Tai = meaning people of. Hence, Tai Dam were people of the Black River, before the Mongol push down. Tai Dam kept the name. The point is Tai Dam and Lao is the same people. The ancient language was influenced by the Pali language.
@LoogKaoNeo I am a new learner who grew up in the U.S.A.I am very curious about all of our Ai-Lao tribes.By reading from what you have written,I am beginning to understand more about our people.Keep on sharing.Thank you.

These people are part of Taikadai group which include Tai Lao (of Laos). I can hear many Lao words in the song. Anyone hear Vietnamese words?

Thanks so much
These singers are selectively 'off' pitch in the most interesting way. To my western ears it's like hearing music for the first time.
The pictures are so fitting. Evokes images of fields and hills..
