This my favorite song...album version. I think this really illustrates how difficult it is to reproduce a great album song in a live venue...the original is a masterpiece of audio enginering, but it leaves little room for great live reproductions. It cant be done, I dont care if they had the greatest sound tech in the world for this gig. Not every song was meant to be done live. They should have done an acoustic gig.

Here's a late post. I used to want to hear a song reproduced like it was done in the album I bought. But now I appreciate the moment of each musicians performance, even as wonderfully raw as it is presented. I am a musician and have recorded songs that I have tried to recreate in the studio but the moment/vibe just couldn't be captured. I enjoyed this performance. Also, this performance is without Karl Wallinger, (Keys/vocals) and would indeed change the live performance as well.

The waterboys could pretty much replicate the studio version live, this, well this is just meant to be a special version. I love the studio version but also love this for being the same song sung by the same band, but yet so different.
