To be honest, it's not epic. But I got a tip for you. Use detector rails. Link them with red stone to a piston. So it's like, there's fire in front of you and when UR mine cart hits detector rail, the fire retreats and u pass. It's cool.

@minilussier They didn't have power rails back in Alpha, you had to add some more rails and a minecart for them to go faster. but they don't work anymore. You can look up how to make minecarts go faster on alpha or something on youtube and see them.
